reverse" in quickstep.
The syllabus book and our coach teaches it as SQQS
But the pro lady I took private from last weekend wanted us to dance as SSQQ
. At first I thought she might be wrong, but as I was watching Pino's
earlier teaching vids, I found they danced it as SSQQ too.
Any clue who is right who is wrong?

International Ballroom Dance Club (IBDC) ，为了让大家能够更好的了解国标舞，
为工作之余增加更多的娱乐内容，暑期将开设暑期班，现扩大招生，开始报名。具体招
生如下：
1． 暑期班为期2个月 （7月，8月），一共9节课 ，每节课1个半小时

chacha是final 第8。其他是semifinal，哈哈。一共要50对，我们都在前12吧，呵呵
凭借的啥呢？
waltz: natural turn, reverse turn, change
quickstep: progress chasses
rumba: basics, new yorks, spot turn, fan, alemana
chacha:same as rumba
感觉waltz进了一大步，消除了timing的问题，也稳定多了。有起伏。
在semifinal里，大家都是silver class来的，就俺们还做那个俩基本动作，
也蛮难为裁判的哈
感谢一下舞伴哈，一个好舞伴也 is almost everything.
music,dancedance也bow一个，最后这几天抓紧训练的waltz基本步可以说是大见成效！

are similar. You can basically do a swing dance to a foxtrot music. And the
quickstep music and very similar to that of samba. However, I realized a
long time ago that quickstep music is the exactly the same as lindy hop
music, or at least i cannot tell the difference. |

Cheryl's tango is terrible.
Maks tango is terrible. the Roxanne song is a strange version. (El Tango De
Roxanne in movie Moulin Rouge is one of my favorite. )
Alec's quicksteps (already forgot what standard/smooth he did） is
unimpressive
Loius tango is ok.
Of course, these people are latin dancers. they did the steps but with
little flavor...
however, karyna's quicksteps is cute! I don't have much standard/smooth
training, but i can tell. And she is |

很多人说看着cheap，我看了一些2.5$以上的基本和hardwood一样了，看不出差别，也
摸不出来
去了一家店，看到了地上铺的，以为是实木，结果是laminate，quickstep牌子的，可
惜价格高了点
4.3$
不足的就是只能floating安装，可是engineered也好多人floating安装
原本一心打算上engineered,被中国店家说动了，想上laminate,2.5(材料）+0.5pad+0.
5边角
=3.5铺全家。
看看大家有没有啥亲身经验 |

ern') are taught very differently, the styles are very similar. The most obvio
us difference is that int'l standard includes quickstep, which is not part of
American smooth. The other major difference is that int'l style permits figure
s in closed position only, while American style allows open positions and even
solo actions. Beyond that, the main differences between the two styles are in
emphasis rather than result. |

被唰掉的女的是哪个跳踢踏舞的小女孩儿。我上次就说了，她的那个舞跳得太一般了。最
多也就是一个cute. 走的那个男的我也没意见。他其实跳舞更本没什么训练，就是在那瞎
跳。我不反对自创一门，不过也得好才行。那个alan大哥们没走，而且这次跳得还不错，
因为是他的风格。可是我担心。要是他下回抽个lyrical dance, 他就要死悄悄了。他那
个身材除了hiphop，什么也跳不了。
好了，我打这些子已经够费尽的了。下面我要打英文了。

performed later in the show. that black guy (forgot his name)just couldn't
present himself with any grace. poor posture. snow was good, as she is a
ballroom dancer.

ryan clearly cannot ballroom. gosh it was as painful as DWTS. his other
performance wasn't for me either. what's his specialty? hip-hop?

among them. Finally we got to see a good quickstep and a samba. I hope next
time Artem can do samba. after watch them, I really think dance need some
talent, for us, even we practice a lot, we will never dance as good as they

be a better judge than i am on this issue. hehe. personally, i think i am.

i am not surprised to see artem to do a good quickstep or a samba, because
that is what he does. and he does a pretty good job at the lyrical stuff as
well. however, i think blake's adoption of samba was better than his adoption
of lyrical. (it is obvious that artem has had a lot of training in ballet. i
can tell |

发帖数: 1138 | 32 昨天是tryout，大约有20来对参加，最后根据各对的表现分别编入A,B,C几个班。在C上了
大半年以后我这次希望混进B的队伍中。Tryout的格局同比赛稍有一点儿类似，大家被随
机分成两组上场，standard部分把Waltz，Tango，Quickstep，Foxtrot各跳一遍，然后大
家全部上场跳一支Waltz，考察所谓拥挤中的floor crafting的能力，接下来老师给大家
示范了一组绝大多数人都不会的waltz动作，给了几分钟的练习磨合时间，看谁最后能基
本把模样跳出来；拉丁舞部分跳的是Chacha，Samba，Rumba，Jive。现学现练的那组
chacha动作我们两个恰好基本上都在别处学过，所以感觉比上一回合waltz的现学现练要
从容了不少。刚刚收到email，算是顺利混进B了，以后会开始主要学习sliver/gold的东
西 |

发帖数: 91 | 36 终于比完回到家了。 这几天两边脚掌一边磨出一个quarter大小的水泡， 疼死了。 不过
不知道为什么，比赛的时候一点都不觉的，呵呵。比赛小错大错犯了一堆，不过整体来说
自己感觉还可以，教练说我们超额完成任务。 ：） 说说比赛吧。
这是第一次参加比赛，去的是个规模不是很大的比赛。 USABDC South Regional Comp.
参加了Collegiate和Amateur两个组别的Internatinal standard prechampion的比赛，比
赛包括W,T,F,Q。前后准备了1个半月吧。
上午的collegiate比赛人不多，我们那组总共就3对couple。 一对从北卡来，看了他们的拉丁很有
味道， standard稍微差点吧。 另一对从是从yale来的，绝对的白种俊男美女，志在必得
的气势，一上来还真给了我们不少压力呢，呵呵。 两个人frame，感觉和动作难度都不错
，就是跟音乐有点问题，所以估计在waltz和foxtrot上吃了不少亏。比下来我们waltz发
挥超常，tango小错不断，foxtrot体验到了从来没有过的smoothness，quickstep关 |

practiced for almost another 2 hrs after the 1 hr lesson. My legs (quads) are
sooooooo sore right now, and I was barely able to walk up the stairs at home.
Guess that I am too out of shape, and I really need to get back into my 8-10
hours a week practice schedule.
The lesson went pretty well, and our first two lines of waltz have become much

unfairly harsh on their hiphop so i'm guessing fans will pull her through.
i liked both travis and donyelle. can't believe how badly they screwed up the
quickstep. glens shares some of the blame though |

i knew it's trouble when glen weise was the choreographer...
but i never knew it's gonna be this much!!!!!! that was bad, bad, bad, bad
god, please let two versatile standard or 10 dancers audition next year and

apart on the technique and chemistry and say no word on multiple serious mis-
connection and steps in the waltz.
of course the waltz is better than quickstep because it's pretty much a
contemporary in disguise. the lines are absolutely beautiful but not much
waltz movement at all |
