我自学到的是，pushover是一种test,可以在实验室做，也可以用FEA做，就是推一个
frame或者shear wall until fail, 得到loading curve（disp vs load）以后，确定
design coefficients and factors (R, Cd, omega), 然后应用到ASCE12.8的ELF
procedure里。我的理解对么？我都是自学的，没人告诉我对错。如果理解的不对，一
定告诉我，谢谢！

? 还是 12.14的simplified design procedure? 还是用其他分析方法？和pushover

Sleep Problem, 一般是Pantley的The No-cry Sleep Solution。虽然没怎么读Ferber
的书，大致知道是用行为学的方法任宝宝哭一阵子，来调节宝宝的睡眠。这两天翻开了
Pantley的书，觉得受益匪浅，特向受宝宝睡眠问题困惑的jms推荐。这本书理讲的道理
其实很简单，看之前却没有想到还有这么温和而且有效的训睡方法。
只看了一部分，对我最有启发作用的是针对刚出生到四个月的宝宝的训睡方法：作者打
了个比方，如果我们大人入睡的时候睡的是卧室温暖的床，醒来却发现躺在了厨房的地
板上，第一反应肯定是错愕和不解。对宝宝们来说也是一样的，如果睡前是在大人暖暖
的怀里，醒来后却在自己孤单的小床，肯定会比较郁闷委屈。宝宝很小的时候，多半不
知道自己该怎么入睡，所以喜欢借助大人的怀抱。很多宝宝被抱着睡的时候很乖，而睡
着后被放到小床上常常马上大哭，或者很快就惊醒。作者推荐的方法不是轻声的把睡着

作者开篇介绍了walter mischel的marshmallow experiments。这个实验很有名，我就
不赘述了，大家放狗去搜就行了。
我记得上次有人提问，说这个实验不对啊，不吃糖的孩子不见得是抵制住了诱惑，可能
他本身就不喜欢糖。初看，这个问题很对，我完全理解有对糖不感兴趣的小朋友，大宝
就是，他弟弟吃巧克力他也无所谓。那么，这算不算这个实验的一个缺陷呢？我觉得不
能。首先，我们选样本的时候，选了足够大的样本。并且，每个实验，不管是观察法，
还是实验法，coding的数据，你都会发现有一些Outliers。我们做统计分析的时候，至
少在我所经历的所有研究中，都不需要将outliers剔除。因为我们报告的实验结果，是
基于统计分析的significant level。如果p<.05，我们就可以报告，有显著差别。所以
，这个实验中的孩子，有可能有一些是不喜欢吃糖的，但是不至于影响了整体的数据。

几点建议：
（1）能换老板是最好的，这样的人品，你是很难争取到自己的利益的；
（2）谈：和老板以及和周围的人强调这些工作是你做的，哪怕是那个研究生参与进来
，你也要占据主要地位，不要让别人觉得你是一个pushover，怎么都行；你要想办法让
研究生给你打杂，而不是你给他打杂；
（3）拖：多长些心眼，关键的技术你自己要掌握好；我见过的很多美国人都不会感激
你的帮助比如教技术呀，帮想idea啦，可能也是大家文化差异吧。我的经验是，你什么
都教会了，也许很快就翻脸不认账了，你不好好教，有技巧地拖着，反而容易得到尊重。
希望这些能对你有帮助，尽量快点把文章发了，找个正常的老板吧。等你换了个好地方
以后，可能才会深刻认识到现在的老板多极品 |

简单说说。fremont的学校需不需要upgrade，这个是有需要的。有的教室看着象MOBILE
HOME似的。学校里的室内篮球场大小都不是标准的，有的地板不是木头的，是VINYL的
。这次的BOND有建设新的MULTIPURPOSE ROOM和新教室的。所以，如果是好的MEASURE我
会赞同。
但这个MEASURE有很大的问题，比如OVERRUN那么高就是问题，空白支票啊。10%OVERRUN
应该是比较合理的。还有费用的问题，这个FREMONT CITIZEN NEWORK说MENLO PARK的中
学30米，基本建了个全新的。这个具体，我目前没有发言权。楼下说的san jose最大的
office complex，要400个million左右。fremont的measure要650million。
关于DEVELOPER,
CITY根本和学区就是两条线，谁也管不了谁。FREMONT的老问题，新的DEVELOPER大概是
