as what developers should have.
Research analysts in IB are quite different. I think some of them focus on
industry analysis and stock pitch up, usually for bachelor or MBAs with
financial market experience. However, researcher in some IBs means real
quant.
.. You need read the job descriptions.
There are many other companies also hire phds and especially you have green
card, that is big plus!

相信这是很多人开始都很关心的问题。由于我是要换方向，对新方向的领域几乎一无所
知，也许更有些可以跟大家借鉴分享的心得。
几年前我就开始没事考虑选以后破四道方向的问题，直到今年夏天才决定。以前没事也
看看一些学校的lab情况，比如Harvard, Stanford，Rockefeller, Caltech，HHMI，
etc. 但是看的太早基本也是白瞎，因为那时候方向都没定好，所以不建议过早考虑lab
，一些开始很心仪后来很粪土的lab也有过。选方向全凭个人具体情况和兴趣，就不多
讲了。
选定方向后就是选Lab。我觉得多数人首先关心的可能就是lab是否productive，我也不
免俗，那就去看publication。先去pubmed搜关键字，发现很低效。后来去CNS，尤其专
业优秀Journal搜关键字，大大提高筛选big name的效率。比如要选cancer field的某
领域，就去cancer cell搜那个关键字，然后google last author name，如果在欧洲就
pass掉，在美国就去看实验室网页，以及回pubmed搜近几年publicatio |

received RFE email. So sad ... But I in fact do not regret requesting pp, as
I don't want to suffer more than half
year and then (still possibly) receive RFE. But the problem is that I used
all I can use now and don't have any
additional evidences to provide (no additional paper, citation, review
during these 15 days). I prepared PL
based on all the good ideas/models here, and claimed publicatio: n,
contribution, and judging other work. (My

发帖数: 930 | 15 你的错误在于你没有做出东西就和b去谈这个事情，b就是什么都没有做也会说他也有同
样的idea，这样你很难进入。这2个东西都属于同一大家族，相互进入很难避免，而且
高水平的研究必须交叉，其实你们裁长补短很好，联合起来做，各自的文章都有对方的
名字。真的到了你找工作时，你的publicatio list有比较多的文章对老板很具有吸引
力。
你如果有了数据，和b讨论时，期望他也有一些contribution，这样才是double win。
目前你就没有什么好办法了。 |
