七八年前还是学生的时候申请过medicaid和WIC，考古了一下有人说填yes的，也有说填
no的。到底算还是不算啊？这个public assistance的定义是包括了任何政府援助还是
只有cash才算？

基本上就是普通的public school，相当于国内普通公立小学，按
学区收人。
还有对政府管的public school不满，有些人自己出来办的public
school，非营利，不收学费，很多需要抽签。
普通的public school里面也搞一些特色学校/特色班级，好像三种
magnet/magnet cluster，属于特色，比如语言，科学等等；gifted,
天才学校，快班+小孩有特长；classic，就是超级快班。magnet收
人根据住址和抽签；后两个要考试。 |

很好的地图。XXX 是各个州的州名。你可以在Amazon 或者其它网站上可以搜到。地图
上用不同的颜色标上Public Land 以及Access Points。 上面还有可以 Camping 的地
点。
另外大多数美国的州有Public Domain laws。就是有些河流，湖泊，湖的岸边或者河流
的两边都是私人Property，你也可以在湖里或者河里钓鱼或者划船等活动。只要你不踏
上岸边的私人领地。当然，如果一个湖周围全部被私人Property包围了， 那就是私人
Property。 但是只要有一个Public launch site， 你就可以通过那个Public launch
site， 进入湖里面。同样，河流也是类似。只要是河里能漂木头，那河流就是公共的
。 私人Property从岸边最高水线算起。只要你在和里面驾船或者淌水都是合法的。所
以每个州的自然资源管理部都拼命的在在湖旁边买一块地把它改成boat launch sites

publication，其实每个人第一作者都没几篇，不过这样找起工作来还是大占便宜阿，
本来学校名气就不错，一看publication又多。
好像大部分名校/非名校都还不错，基本上学生的publication都是自己的。不知道怎么
就是某名校有这个传统。
为了避免校际争端，某名校的名字我就不说了。不过如果你熟悉他们的publication，
当知道我说的是哪个。 |

有人说healthcare reform以后，只不过是多了一个option, 你可以选择政府的Plan,也
可以选择自己的保险。
但是，这种选择就像public school和private school一样，选择private school和
home school的人实际是double-pay the education cost。住在NY-NJ附近的都知道为
了维持public school system, school tax有多高，但是对于还没有孩子，和不打算把
孩子送入public school的家庭（包括home schooling和private school）来说,这是一
笔完全没有回报的负担。
黑八的政府版healthcare，帽子戏法变得再好看也不能无中生有，说到底还是由tax
payer承担额外的cost，让大家出钱提供一个自己根本不会去选择的选择。

我这种情况，publication纯粹是个鸡肋。
本人经历
1.CS-PhD
2.方向很偏
3.找Industrial的工作，写程序呗
4.国内有一些工作经验
5.有七八篇论文，包括第一作者和第二作者的。大部分会议名称对大多数人来讲都比较
奇怪。
写简历的时候很困扰。发现所有人都推荐只写一页简历，有一些公司明确说只要一页的
简历，例如MS. 这样的话只能蜻蜓点水地把自己做过的东西写下，然后列出部分我认为
recuriter可能感兴趣的论文。
现在找工作不顺利，准备大改简历，做以下修改：
1.只写与所投公司有关的工作经历
2.每一条工作经历尽可能show off一下，例如This application has been installed
in...
这样的话，发现如果删掉Publication，可以尽情发挥一下。所以我想只写一句话在简
历末尾：
Publication list is available upon request.
根据我面试过的经验，发现没有任何公司对我发表的论文感兴趣。希望这 |

看？如果你发表的论文确实对你当前要找的工作有帮助，你可以列一下selected
publication, 否则只会起相反的作用，因为只会让人觉得你不会突出重点。
我曾经帮公司看过几份简历，有一份还是中国人的，看了之后简直有种想扔到垃圾筒里
的冲动，教育经历连年份都没有， publication却列了好几页。一个QA Manager用得着

看了western regional exceptions列的一堆exception,其中有很重要的一条：
Title company准备的文件，说如果这个房子如果有其他债务或者title有问题但是没有
出现在public record 中的话，不保。
现在有点担心怕有些问题没有public record，或者public record 还没有及时更新所
以暂时查不出来。不知道大家都是怎样的情况。
是不是因为买的银行屋（REO）所以有这个exception? 一般的regular sale 有没有这
个？还是我可以要求多出点钱买贵点好点的保险，即使public record暂时查不到但是
也可以保？

5. 蒙校上一年K, 转public再上一年K，为了更好的适应

觉得publication也是自己的achivement，觉得应该列，但是如果公司不感兴趣
publication，那可占了很大一块地方呢，人家不感兴趣，还不如删掉。
以前在国内找工作，公司的工作简历上从不提文章。
或者是不是要根据职位的title定，比如scientist就列publication，如果是engineer
就不列。

在这里问大家一个问题：我们刚刚close的房子，在湾区。从始至终一直以为lot的大小
是6088 sqft，Redfin，Zillow，卖家的list和appraisal列的lot size都是6088 sqft
。可是close完之后，我们查到有的网站上这个房子在county的public record里面，
lot size是5663 sqft，少了425 sqft！agent帮我们查了下，说county public record
确实是5663 sqft。可是很奇怪的是管交税的office of county assessor网站上有
assessor's parcel map，在这个地图上这个房子lot的长宽面积和开始卖家list的是一

学位都是MPH(master of public health)学位, 自费, 没有奖学金。目前收到的三个学
校的offer, 分别是
