看了学校有关申请OPT时间的一些说明，有一点糊涂
说现在OPT申请时间可以在program completion date的前90天或者之后的60天grace
period.
我是一名博士生，不是太清楚program completion date到底是指哪一天？
答辩当天就算嘛？还是提交毕业论文当天？还是提交毕业论文那个学期的最后一天？
我答辩安排在了12月份，没有赶上今年秋季毕业，所以要明年春天那个学期才毕业，也
打算来年开春提交论文。
但是我不明白是不是我12月份答辩当天就算是program complete了。真要这样我就得赶
紧申请OPT了。

个English Proficiency Test，结果达到要求。不过他老师还是推荐了这个ESL
program，我们可以选择让儿子参加/不参加这个program（校内，免费，每周一次）。
这个测试的结果一共六档：

- High Intermediate

照张高质量的照片，同时送一本booklet用来记录孩子的vital statistics.这个
program的作用是帮助找回丢失儿童。它的理念是，在儿童丢失的案件中，高质量的照
片是找回丢失儿童的最重要的工具。另外父母也可以从booklet上的获知哪些信息是相
关部门需要的。
我听着觉得挺不错的，但因为这个program是由一个保险公司而不是政府部门提供的，
就不知道是不是有什么需要注意的。我现在能想到的比如说，保险公司会不会搜集孩子
的信息，然后不恰当地使用这些信息（从flyer来看似乎活动组织者只是给娃拍张照片
，而且说you, as parents, will keep the only copy of the photo)。

上，收到的DOS recommendation letter上只显示最后的program number，这样是不是
就足够

第一个program A 的I20今年8月到期，赶不上答辩，延到12月了
现在刚被本校另一个program B录取
去ISO“咨询”，被告知不可以同时注册两个program
ISO要联系研院取消第二个offer
或者让A的导师写信证明我主要工作都已经做完了
（但我担心这样与我延I20矛盾）
不知道有没有人有类似经历
还有个问题，如果我没去找ISO，直接co-enroll
是不是A的I20过期以后ISO可能不给发B的I20
因为那个时候program B也已经上了半年了

是individual with high potential，HR就会邀请你加入某个神神秘秘的发fasttrack
program，前提是你要过由VP们，HR，还有心理学家们的评估。听老美同事讲进了这种
program就可以在5-10年之内走完大部分人20年或者永远升不到的级别，前提是你在各
个轮换的岗位上不screw up。也有人讲进了这种program，你可以升得快，但是你永远
或者非常难做到CEO或者Senior VP的职位，因为没有时间在各个岗位上做出具体成绩出
来。
大家有没有人在各自公司的这种program里面？如果有牛人在的话，能传授一些经验吗

Glenridge middle school 全校都是lB Program. 至少一半是lB honor。 IB honor
program 每年要做15小时volenteer work(六年级的要求，高年级更多）。 学习内容稍
微深些，不知为什么，我总觉得不够。我娃每天大把时间没事做，也不学习，成绩总是
A。我正盘算要让他学些体育。也不知道该学啥。苦闷中。

去年秋天开始女友在申请加州的学校，上个月她收到California State Unviersity,
Long Beach (CSULB)的Master program的Admission，离我的学校还挺近，很是高兴。
于是在收到I-20之后就约好了5月16号的签证，同时把其他学校的申请都withdraw了。
谁曾想，就在我们准备签证的时候，今天早上收到一封International Admission
Office的email，说录取她的mater program被suspend了，签发的I-20无效了。我当时
立马打电话过去确认，说是由于funding问题，有几个program被暂时取消了。跟她们理
论几句，都是一副死猪不怕开水烫的架势，只答应另外选个专业申请，但不保证录取。
给program的老师发信，也说是被suspend了，现在他连录取系统也进不去了，没什么能
帮忙的了。又给学校教务长发信，还没有回音。现在能做的只能等消息了。有过或见过
类似经历的朋友，烦请多给建议。 |

貌似这个program没大作用，至少我们在所谓的好学区的gifted program，没有觉得有

程的program。该软件工程program上的内容好像比较“虚”，包括软件系统管理，软件
设计什么的，一点都没包括CS的核心课程（如算法，OS，体系结构，数据库什么的）。
而且上的课都在下午到晚上8，9点，似乎是用来“扩招”赚钱的program。各位对这个

你会有一堆课需要补。数据库、数据结构等等都是要补的内容。他们suppose这些
课都是你在本科学过了的。这个program是graduate program，一半学生在职，
所以都是下午晚上上课。课程内容很多是很practical的东西，比如说
distributed object programming。那些比较理论的fundamental的内容比如说
算法，这个program里是没有的。你就把它当成职业培训好了。 |
