trend (time profile of pH, temperature etc.)
I am using continous process history view, which is basically a client of
Pi-data server. It works fine and of course its x-axis shows real time stamp.
My boss doesnt like the real timestamp though, coz it is not straightforward
to tell how long the process is runing now. Especially for fermentation
process, age (relative time) is prefered as x-axis. But there is difficuty to

在命令行“ps 4726”，结果是空的。但是用“ps”可以看到

在国内sjtu读的是化工专业，本科的研究方向是 锂离子电池负极材料，master的研究方
向是 氧化锌及其杂化薄膜。当时对自己的研究方向很没有兴趣。因为以前的研究方向
都比较偏向于材料，而我本人比较喜欢数学，物理，化工原理等科目，工程类的方向。
不太喜欢纯粹理科类的研究（偏化学的）

，现在想想也有点后悔当初这样的选择），平时一直要programming，也不讨厌program

VCSEL, LED之类的。感觉基本的process算是熟悉了一些。但是对未来的发展很迷茫。
。。觉得自己对device的了解不多，process对device performance的影响也说不太清
，device怎么做或者怎么design才能更好也不知道，感觉自己就是做做process...
有时候有新的客户，会做一些新的东西（不同的design,其中有1,2个地方会有些挑战性
），觉得还挺有意思。有时候觉得很无聊，感觉自己就是一个高级techncian，就是做
做production. 有时候甚至萌生了想回学校再读个PhD的之类的想法。
不知道版上有没有同行或者是前辈能指点小弟一二。多谢！！ |

总结了一下就一句：process engineer就是高收入千老，干的活没有任何不同。压力比
千老只增不减。有以下几个特点：
1）半导体制造行业，做process 研发，就是干钻牛角尖的事情。22纳米再往下，都不
好做，但是还要硬着头皮做，要不没饭吃。这就是在和大自然抗争。和大自然抗争，一
般都没有好下场，比如治疗癌症。稍好的是可能是半导体有22纳米产业化在那撑着，工
资比生物千佬多些。
2）半导体制造行业，亚洲人（除大陆外）越来越多，因为重心都在台湾， 韩国日本这
几个地方。亚洲人，在美国比烙印变态的不少。比如你刚入职顶头上司如果是台湾的，
和你做千佬找个亚洲AP差不多，后果可以掂量下。
3）半导体制造行业，合并厉害。你能找到大公司的工作， 可能就是这个行业最好的待
遇了。想跳也很难跳的。比如intel里面的process engineer，我同学去面试吓着回来
了，说里面都是zoombie，为什么被煮成了熟的青蛙？还不是能跳的时候没有好的公司

的，可能在设计方面要人比较多，或者做项目管理的比较火。似乎做process engineer
的机会不多。我这里的process engineer 主要就是指 做 pilot tests / study 的
engineer，一般都在consulting firm里面的RD部门。
不知道有没有了解情况的朋友。我现在的机会就是进一个不错的公司做process
engineer。但是我想我应该是要回国的, 因为是独生子女，父母在国内。我想的就是不
知道美国的硕士学位+5年左右的process engineer经验，回国后能不能找到合适的职位
？国内什么样的职位比较match这种背景？
我倒是看了看veolia， 得利满什么的国内的职位，他们找的多的不是operator 就是
manager，似乎在国内做的和在美国做的有很大不同……求指点~~~ |

我在mathematically 能看出兩個的區別，但是班上大牛能不能給個清楚的解釋, 為什
麼兩個其實沒有關系了。 我怎麼覺得從定義上理解，Martingale 是Markov Process的一個
特例呢？ 去構造example的思路是什麼？
Markov Process：最重要的特點就是future is independent with history before time s!
Martingale 最重要的特點就是 driftless, ， 但是 it may depend on the history Ft?

However, I think the definition of markov process is clear enough to say
that markov chain has finite memory on the path, so that any length of
delay can be embedded into a vector as lag-one markov process. So any
martingale with infinite memory is not a markov process. |

发帖数: 84 | 43 我和学校都比较拖, 现在他们说打算premium processing 了 (看着意思是他们出钱,
但是说budget 要7 月1号后才下来). HR 说还是建议我自己再申请 OPT 做backup.(不过他这样建议是基于当时系里还没有确认他们是否支持premium processing 的情况下)
有人说我现在就算申请 OPT 也要加急了. 8月底开始的工作, 现在申请也不见得OPT
可以比H1b 早下来吧. 还有必要自己申请OPT 吗? 我觉得他们都要premium processing
了, 应该就没必要再用OPT 了啊. |

I sent a check for premium processing and was just told that H1B
applications submitted before April 8th are already approved. So ISSS
suggested that I wait for a bit more.

发帖数: 1195 | 50 我不太明白的是，如果offer还在process中，没收到正式的letter只有口头的offer，
这个算不算已经有employment了呢？
难道说一到OPT生效90天，我在USICS的文件就自动作废或者不被系统承认了，所以连继
续process employment都不可能了么？还是说如果没人提就没事，直到employment正式
完成然后上班？
现在正在催，担心要是就差那一两个星期没process完让OPT过期了。要是真那样除了回
国，转dependent，ACC挂名之外，还有没有什么办法留下来啊？
