是这样的，我本来读phD，后来觉得PhD毕业后不好找工作，不想与家人分居两地，就拿
了master毕业了，考了FPGEE，后来又生小孩带孩子，好不容易考完了IBT，盼星星盼月
亮盼来了FPGEC，可是现在intern好难找啊，连volunteer都不好找。Big chain和医院
基本没戏，independent pharmacy也都full house。对了，我是有绿卡的。
昨天跟一个independent pharmacy的owner聊了几句，更加郁闷得不行，他觉得现在
pharmacist已经over supply，我们这种foreign graduate就算找到了intern，起码还
要1，5年到2年才能拿到执照，到那时pharmacist的工作就更难找了，搞不好奋斗了这
么久连工作都找不到，要不然就得跑到很远的地方去做pharmacist，与家人分居两地。
伤心啊，早知道是这种结果还不如拿PhD呢。
想问问大家，尤其是已经在做pharmacist的童鞋们，pharmacist的就业前景到底有多恶
劣呢？

pharmacy school, It is not necessary to have a Pharm.D. Many Ph.D teach in
pharmacy school. I know some faculties work as a part time pharmacist, but I
am not sure if it is popular or not.
Many people got Ph.D in Biomedical Science and are planning Pharmacist
examination. It is very difficult and tough to become a Biology Faculty. It
might be a good choice to become a pharmacist. However, it is not easy to go

make a choice-being a pharmacist or a faculty. Both of them are very tough
jobs when you are on early years of your career. For me, I spent a lot of
years in school being a student on science. However, as a pharmacist intern,
it was very challenging for me. I gotta learn some very basic things and
even started to learn correctly pronunciation with my ENGLISH tutor. My
knowledge has been reshaped for being a pharmacist. |

pharmacists are paid by hourly wage, the more hours they work, the more they
make. Full time pharmacists don't work over 40 hours a week, cuz they make
the same $$$ even if they choose to work beyond 40 hours (overtime is
something different).
Floaters are the ones that make the most (at least at the place where I work
right now), because they get paid more than fulltime pharmacists (hourly

therapeutic book that many of you use). The topic was on the future of
pharmacy.
He said the # of pharmacists needed for dispensing meds (i.e. retail
pharmacists) will dramatically decrease over the next 2 decades. Areas where
we will see an increase in the # of pharmacists include hospital pharmacy (
clinical specialists), amb care (MTM pharmacies), and academia.

认识有几个是从technician到pharmacist的，但都是去读了PHARMD的。所以我觉得你或
者工作，不要再管PHARMACIST的事情，或者读PHARMD. |

clerk, pharmacy student intern and pharmacist. There is no promotion happens
in here.You have to have PharmD to be a pharmacist nowadays. A lot of
pharmacy students work as techs or interns to get experience. And these
experiences help you in the application as well as the studying in the
program. |

医院工作的是salary, then different story).严格执行一周40个小时,超过一分钟都
是1.5倍.graduate intern是pharmacist的50% or 75%, depends on area.而且holiday
都是paid.所以上面那个说开始6,7万的说的不太全面哟.虽然不是什么太好的job,但是
希望foreign graduate pharmacist越来越多,特别是中国大陆的同学们,加油. |

同的工作，PHARMACIST LICENSE对你当TEACHING FACULTY of
biological science没有太多的帮助，没有license你也能申请，而CLINIC FACULTY有
自己的标准和职业要求，PHD好像也没太大的帮助，PHARM D and RESIDENCY
EXPERIENCE是必要的。如果你打算当FACULTY，就按自己的路走下去。你如果打算回国
就没必要考FPGEE，国内PHARMACIST的收入地位都不高，而且美国的LICENSE也没用，你
就好好做研究，也许回国还混个教授。 |

只要跟manager讲一下就行了？vacation期间收入全无吗？那平时是不是就不需要赚什

lost their jobs because automation was coming along in the 70's when he
graduated, but apparently he is still dispensing in 21st century. The thing
is a registered pharmacist has to be there in order to dispense rx.
Technology helps us to do it faster, however, patient population is
expanding and medication used is increasing also.

demand for retail pharmacists but an increasing demanding for individualized
patient care, ex. MTM (ambulatory care) pharmacists, clinical pharmacists,

话让另一个pharmacist朋友过来顶替 不过人家住20mile 以外 所以 过来又花了半个
多小时 他当时急死了
我在想如果找不到人过来顶替的话是不是pharmacy store 必须要关门? 这种事情发生
几次是不是pharmacist 要被炒?
很多时候retail 都只有一个药剂师站岗啊 这个压力好大 |

统负担大大增加。按目前状况算physician都不够的。pharmacist只能很有可能增大。
越来越多的pharmacist会做一些类似NP, PA的direct patient care.那么同时传统的
dispensing role也不是其他行业可以取代的。所以我不担心，人总是要生病的，有人

Winthin 10 years, the number will be more close to current dollar value of

上医生，但是至少门槛相对高些，不象化学生物对申请的人相对限制低，又有奖学金，
所以学的人太多了。只要美国的医疗系统没有大的变革，应该不会有大问题，只是现在
看到很多人讨论未来零售药店可能会有所变化，又加上邮购药的出现，不知道这些变化

is they make IV product for patient to use at home. So they are sterile
products needs to be used at home. Instead of dispensing oral meds, you are
dispensing IV medication....
YOu don't need to go to the patients, because you don't administer it. There are traveling nurses who administer them or patients/family get trained to do it. So infusion pharmacist dispense the drug...

country to here.

。一旦PHARMACIST了，就好办多了。不管再怎么饱和，还是有很需要PHARMACIST的地方
，但是这些地方就是鸟不拉屎的，但是没有办法，先hang in there.哪个行业日子现在
