本报记者报道
烈治文市府已经禁止市内所有私人住宅及大部分市府物业使用化学除草剂。上周市府表
决通过《杀虫剂使用管制附例》（Pesticide Use Control Bylaw），执法人员有权向
违例业主发出1,000元的罚款告票。
市议员麦乐田（Bill McNulty）说：「这条禁令早应实施，大部分城镇也实施相关条例
。」附例禁止在私人及市府土地上使用杀虫剂，以维持草地、树木、花卉及其他植物美
观。获得豁免的市府公地是休博伊尔公园（Hugh Boyd Park）及明洛鲁公园（Minoru
Park）的球场土地。
杀虫剂的定义是任何以化学、生物及其他物质，去达到防治、消灭、驱逐及缓和害虫为
目的之物品。
附例执法官员对首犯者将发出100元告票，再犯者将课以500元罚款，第三次重犯者，最
高可罚款1,000元。 |

看起来蛮吓人啊，又是二恶英，又是PCB。
我们常钓鱼的那些点，从上面上回我去的蚊子岛，到海狼公园，全在这个圈子里面啊。
建议的是成人一个月只能吃8盎司，怀孕妇女和12岁以下儿童不该吃。
正好想到那些一COOLER一COOLER往家里搬鱼的，那不是得吃出问题来？？
看来海狼公园是不敢去了。东湾和西湾看起来好一点，只是建议猫鱼不能吃。
那以后不是得往西南边转移，去MATAGORDA湾那边？
可是那边又有一个核电站。

空气空间。那个碎草和 paper bedding 都喜欢粘在一起。
为什么人家的 compost 随随便便就上 150F 呢，妒忌啊。
我要把所有的枯叶都搜刮回来。至少要撑到明年夏天。

them? It depends on the type of vegetables you are growing. They don't seem
to like 青菜 or 大白菜, but they like tomatoes that hang low. They were
eating the leaves of my 丝瓜 like salad, so I just sprayed some pesticide
particles around the seedlings. The label says it is harmless. The
particulate herbicide should be available in many stores. |

house.
My yard covers 4 zones, namely, 7a, 6b, 6a, 5 and 4, staring from the cold
frame by the southern wall. My veg garden is mostly 6, because we don't want
it too close to the house, where we use a lot of pesticide, nor on the
border, where there is car exhaust or the run-off from neighbors' lawn. |

need to worry about termites on a daily basis.
Conventionally, plants are grown around the foundation to help stabilize the
soil conditions. But in case of a veggie/fruit garden, keep it away from
the house and the street, to minimize the pollution.
After all, you don't want bugs/worms around the house, and you might apply a
lot of pesticide, which you don't want on your veggie/fruit. |
