value of a home != building it up. It is probably a combination of:
1. comfortably housing a family,
2. having a good neighborhood,
3. kids going to good schools,
4. easy to commute,
5. a vehicle to hedge inflation risk.
Only the first item is related to building cost. |

If some contractor offers to remodel your house for $500K you will call him
insane since $500K will build you a brand new house.
However when politicians propose to spend $30M to renovate an elementary
school when $30M is probably the price tag for a brand new school somewhere
else, everyone seems ok with that.

technical person by the way. This company is in a rather recession-ression
market, so the company rarely lay-off people. In fact, because they just
signed a few big contracts, they are still hiring. And the pay is comparable
to MS.

care plan is not good, $1000+ deductible for him alone per year. So I add

well placed, but it does significantly increase the likelihood after the
opening. On average you expect partner to have doubleton spade so you can
estimate no loser in spades, and since you've got HT as well, it's too
pessimistic to play 3 losers in hearts.
If you want to double 4C, certainly that cannot be from West's side. Just
because you feel your 140 being robbed and hold 2 Q's so you double?

there's a good chance for us to take any seed after 16. But sometimes there
are some really good teams that are underseeded in 16-32. There are some
chances for seed 9-16, but I have a rather pessimistic view against the top 8
seeds. As you can see, I'm not quite modest :-)
Chinese open team has fallen behind significantly in the past few years. I'm
not sure why. After all China has adopted a team trial approach lately |
