之前被选去当PANELIST，和同行泰斗们同座一席REVIEW PROPOSAL，决定未来3年的
FUNDING分配，还沾沾自喜。但最近和另外一位同事聊天，才知道对JUNIOR SCIENTIST
，做PANELIST其实弊大于利，最多打个平手。她上次在PANEL里REJECT的PROPOSAL，不
知为何为对方GROUP知道了，结果她最近吃尽对方的苦头。开始担心自己RANK得LOW的
PROPOSAL了。下次不去PANEL了。

发帖数: 131 | 4 过来更新一下， 今天的状态变成 Recommended. 三个panelist给的是E/V,V,V. 这是我
第四次投一个idea，总共有一年半的时间， 中间换了两次program, 第一次投这个
Program就中了。 感觉是Panel提的问题还是要解决， 因为不解决下一次总会有
Panelist看出来，每次重投都会把最新的基础数据放进去， 但还是要人觉得你有很多
要做的，每次panel的成绩都有提高，另外，改写的时候要针对投的program. 第四年快
结束了，这是我的第二个NSF grant， 愿大家都有耐心，有好运气。 |

时候也有coi，所以觉得有功夫跟他联络感情可以预先祝贺一下，
后来觉得这样不妥，等funding出来再说，没想到，没给，好险，看来作panelist开会
以后就是要shut up，呵呵 |

天的teleconference。

外也在准备申绿卡。这个活看起来工作量和强度都很大，所以我想问下这个工作对我找
AP和申请绿卡帮助大吗？值得现在干嘛？还是集中精力，省下时间做好手头工作更好？

scriber, in charge of summarizing the discussion. 一个proposal如果有一个负
责的panelist不喜欢 and that panelist has a strong personality, 基本上就没戏了
我参加的两次,所有的proposal都被put in a ranked list: the top few are
considered must-fund, the bottom half are eliminated, the middle few are
subject to funding availability and other political reasons (such as whether

proposal。
作为新AP，这是第一次被邀请，邮件来自一个program director，是刚上任的。并且刚
好是我正在under review的proposal的pm。觉得不仅可以了解领域新动向而且可以认识
这个pm。
但是时间上很不好，需要非常大的effort（比如一个人带着娃travel）才能去，请问版
上的前辈这样值不值得去？真的很纠结要不要这么麻烦去参加这个panel。
另外还没有申绿卡，这种panelist对绿卡申请有帮助吗？

JOURNAL的ASSOCIATE EDITOR，到目前已经有三年，平均每年REVIEW 8~10篇

刚刚拿到NOID，很慌乱，完全没有头绪。感觉这个VO看的非常认真，提出的

本人背景:
2006年美国IVY LEAGUE PHD，地球物理科学专业，主攻基础理论方向（跟数
学方向挺近的，大量推公式），博士期间在本专业TOP JOURNAL上发表4篇第
一作者文章（不好意思，比起生物领域的朋友来说，这个数字挺可怜的，见
笑了。但是和我同届同专业的同仁比，还是不错的，我老板原话）。引用勉强
