多伦多病童医院及加拿大儿科手术等待时间项目(Canadian Paediatric Surgical Wait Times)研究人员在加拿大15个儿科医院对6万4000多个手术病例研究后得出以上结论。研究人员的调查报告发布在本周出版的加拿大医学会期刊(Canadian Medical Association Journal)上。研究人员在报告中指出，牙科、眼科、唇颚裂等候手术时间最长，癌症、神经外科、心脏手术等候手术时间也不短，总共约有27%病例没有在六个月内获得手术治疗。
多伦多病童医院矫形外科医生莱特(Jim Wright)说：「有的病例诊断时间只需要一周或三周时间，因此武断设定六个月的手术轮候时间框架，不是非常合理。」

辐射无处不在，核辐射等电离辐射可直接杀灭或损伤细胞，改变DNA的结构，造成遗传上的影响。中国孕妇担心危害肚里的小宝宝，听到"辐射"两字惟恐避之不及，仙人球、龙舌兰成了办公室的"防辐射利器"，动辄几百上千元的防辐射背心也成了"标准配置"。
事实上，并非所有辐射都会对身体造成损害，生活中接触的手机、电脑、无线路由器、印机、高铁、通讯基站等，产生的是非电离辐射。1988年6月出版的《美国工业医学杂志》所载的《孕期女性使用视屏终端与流产和新生儿出生缺陷发生概率的关系》统计了1583名来自美国北加州的孕妇的情况，最后得出"不能证明视频终端产生的电磁辐射与流产率提高之间有直接联系。"而截至目前，对包括电脑和手机在内的研究都没能给出日常生活中的电磁辐射伤害健康的可靠证据。

answers.
Senario 1: 2 day interview in an academic center. If you have a 2-day
interview, one of which is research day interview, they expect you to be a
physician scientist type and they also expect to perform tons of research
during residency. Last year, I got 2 interviews like 2 days iv in
paediatrics and internal medicine. My lesson is that I did not emphasize a
lot on research. Haha. of course, I blew them both.
