应我过去的导师邀请，参加了他组织的panel. 我们又有几年不见，这次重逢在主办会
议的一所位于美国南方的美丽的大学的校园里。我和他相识十多年，如今亦师亦友，谈

会议间隙，在校园散步，导师这个中日文俱佳，可称中国通的知名学者说到一件事：他
看到一个报道，说一位美国教授在课堂上问学生，假如美国和中国发生军事冲突，应该
怎么办。有学生回答，NUKE，就是用核武器攻击中国。
我说，我并不觉得很奇怪，因为我也指导过研究中国军力增长，但出发点在于美国如何
应对的学生（更见识过同情新疆分裂主义暴力却指责中国对9/11反应冷 淡，被我当场
批驳的美国大学生）。但是，我总是试图让学生们相信，从历史和文化来看，中国都不
是一个以武力称霸的国家。中国可能喜欢以自己的文化影响其他 民族，但对于武力征

前记: 现在的媒体都是有某种倾向的，对于极端自由派来说，你要说美国半点不好感觉
好象犯了罪一样，上网要不骂毛泽东都不好意思发贴。当然，在一个左右分化的世界上
