Novato has good and newer apts, like others said there is costco there as
well as sutter health,2 good chinese restaurants (China Palace and China
Village) both offer good chinese food as long as you tell the waiter that
you want real chinese food. Novato is safe as well as any city in Marin (
except Marin City and Part of San Rafael, but still all better than anywhere
cross the richmond bridge). Try craigslist for apt.

Novato has Costco also.
Petaluma if price matters
Rohnert Park if price really matters.
These cities are safe generally.

might be able to get a small 3br at a so-so neighborhood in Novato. Buying
might be a better option at Novato, since housing price over there has
dropped a lot in the past 3 years. |

neighborhoods are very safe in Novato.
If you want to live in San Rafael, then you might want to consider places
north of Marin County Civic Center, such as Marinwood, Lucas Valley, and
Terra Linda. Definitely avoid the Canal area.
Craigslist.org is a good source for rental information. |

Marin in general is not a renter-friendly place. Decent place are
expensive while economic apts are not decent. Better find Townhouses to
rent instead of apartment complex if you want to rent in Marin.
Renting in east bay will have more chance to get a decent place with a
reasonable price, but the commute is long and boring. And to be honest,
most parts of Marin (except Novato and part of San Rafael) is an upscale
place while east bay is so so.

larkspur. Actually it's often not enough for a 1br there.
I see your budget, and I will suggest you find a place between San Rafael
and Novato, and we will have one more friendly couple to hang out with. |

little bit boring. San Rafael and Mill
Valley both have nice downtown with very good restaurants. Sausalito is the
best but outrageously expensive.
If you can't live w/o Chinese food, you can consider El Cerrito. El Cerrito
hills area is very safe and nice. 30~40
minute commute if you get fasttrack.

可能是我家住在北湾的缘故我并没有觉得ipad2难买呀? 我在ipad2推出后的一周早
上去corte madera的果子店门口没有什么人开门以后几乎每一种款式都有随便挑。
接着fast forward 到这周我去novato的costco买东西好朋友来电说旁边的target有
ipad2卖问我要不要买我说已经买了。后来和朋友见面喝咖啡完了以后他带我看他
的车后屁股里面大概有40个ipad2我很惊讶原来听说chinatown有人专门收购ipad2一
台加一百买。。。结果朋友这几周已经卖了大概60多台赚了。。。。oh well 你们
自己算吧。可惜呀我没有这个闲功夫要不一个月不到赚了6000多还不用交税。。。

朋友说novato的target近乎天天有货，还有就是santa rosa的果子店根本没有人排
队。他动员的所有的朋友家人一天就买了大概15台。。。唉。。。。。还有就是如
果不用信用卡买可以拿现金先买果子的gift card然后在买ipad2. |

every weekend. Only been to petaluma for Chinese buffet.
Even while living in Novato, nothing to do on the weekends. No place to eat,
no friends to chat. Many coworkers live in petaluma, but they are white.
Housing is cheaper than south bay for sure.
If possible, you can live in San rafael and work in petaluma. You will have
a better quality life. |

这两个多月以来，由于新冠肺炎的大肆袭击，口罩成了在美华人的关切重点。
有趣的是附近店裡买不到任何口罩，路上也看不到任何人戴口罩。大婶我很想对着口罩
喊话：「口罩口罩今何在？你不在我不自在！」三月十六号我终于看到第一个活生生戴
口罩的人出现在我的面前。嗯，我忘记说了，是我照镜子时看到的。没错，那天我非常
勇敢的戴上我家老爷赏赐的口罩和塑胶手套，义无反顾的到学校去了。之所以成为戴口
罩的第一人，当然是有原因的。
我工作的小学位于德拉瓦大学 （University of Delaware）旁边，德拉瓦州出现的前
七个新冠炎确诊例子都和该所大学人员有关，我的学生家长有很多人都是该所大学员工
或教授。德拉瓦大学已延长春假，关闭学校，让多数员工在家工作。三月十三号下班以
后，德拉瓦州长宣布全州公立小学停课两星期。由于停课通知来得突然，学校通知教职
员，週一有两个小时的空档让大家返校收拾，例如食物，宠物或是盆栽。
所以大婶我才会冒着生命危险，全副武装走进学校收拾东西。
我一走进学校，美国同事都用奇怪的眼光看着我，一名女校工由于上星期发现我老是用

发帖数: 29 | 50 上星期五下午收到一封莫名其妙的信，是从一个律师行寄出的。信是同时寄给我们(
Owner), 一个San Rafael的装修公司 (Simontacchi Construction) 和一个在Novato的
Subcontractor. 基本上就是通知我们这个律师代表Sherwin Williams Company 在我们
房子的title上file了一个Mechanic's Lien. 说是因为一些漆和工具的费用没有还，大
概就一千多刀.
问题是，信上说的装修公司和Subcontractor我们根本就不认识，名字连听都没听过
，更不要说跟他们有任何合同了，而且我们跟Sherwin Williams Company 没有任何的合
同。
我们的房子是去年夏天买的，当时帮我们装修的是一个朋友，他有自己的装修公司
，工人是不是外面临时找的就不太清楚。我们星期五收到信后就给他打了电话，他说根
本不认识这些人，而且我们当时装修完就把所有的费用都付清了，根本没有任何欠款。
另外，信上没有说这些欠款是什么时候的，我不清楚跟我们原来的屋主有没有关系。
想问问大家有没有碰到过这 |
