之前的要求就是进流通借阅部，而不是在旧书店卖掉，因为是特意买来捐的。nobel这
里的north universities 图书馆查阅后表示肯定会进流通借阅。
同时还带的一本张的南京大屠杀，还有华裔美国 口述历史的书，图书馆都有不少
copies，所以只能进旧书店，我就没捐。
同时向图书馆建议在12月展出南京大屠杀和张的传记，不过因为时间紧，而且我也考虑
12月主要是节日气氛，所以建议来年的11月9日张纯如祭日前后，在展示架上推荐她的
著作和传记，图书馆负责人很赞同，让我明年记得提醒她。
还有，图书馆很欢迎儿童中文书的捐赠，不论新旧，都进流通借阅，因为借中文书的人
太多了，供不应求。我有点汗，因为我自己也借不少中文书，可是还没捐过。我解释说
大部分中国人家的书都是爷爷奶奶背来的，如果捐了，下次老人来可能会失望，图书馆
表示理解，我告诉他们明年回国会带来一些中文书捐给他们。

faculty来说可以算是很牛B了，但是对于老方这种senior的已经搞了一辈子的人来说，
就只能算so so。不要说是院士，离aps fellow的级别也还差了不少。引用率最高的一
篇文章还是95年到了arizona之后跟老外合作的，被引118次，这也是方唯一一篇被引用
上百次的文章。可见方励之89之前确实没有做出过什么重要的工作，他的名声和地位绝
对是靠政治得来的，当然其中部分的也是80年在中国搞科普所得，必须承认科普工作也是
有重要的社会意义的。
(BTW，有人说你这个搜索未必完整。不错，确实不能保证100％毫无遗漏。但是我

There is a list of universities in China. BUPT not on it.
Tsinghua is no.1 in the universities classified as Engineering Type

一本是：The rape of Nanking : the forgotten holocaust of
World War II, by Iris Chang
另外一本是 Rape of Nanking: An Undeniable History in Photographs by James Yin,
Shi Young, Ron Dorfman (Editor)
图书馆已经回信非常乐意接受捐赠。
但是似乎第二本书现在各个网站都out of stock了， 只有一个网站却要150多块。 我想
请问谁知道哪里可以买到这本书？

，翻来翻去。突然一本名字叫：“What really happened in Nanking”被我看到了，拿
起来翻一翻，不翻则已，一翻让我愤怒之极。这本书是在极力否认南京大屠杀，不仅否认
还在为倭人树碑立传，宣扬公德。文中是非颠倒，可恨之极！作者是个鬼子老头，名字叫
Tanaka Masaaki。（部分章节链接：“http://www.ne.jp/asahi/unko/tamezou/nankin/whatreally/index.html”。）
然后我再找关于南京大屠杀的书，又找到一本：“The Nanking Massacre : fact
versus fiction : a historian's quest for the truth / by Higashinakano Shudo ;
translated by Sekai Shuppan.”也是在颠倒是非。再找，没有了！TMD,那不他说啥就是
啥了！这么大个学校，谁想关注一下南京大屠杀的，不都被这些猪狗不如的东西误导？！

上海独占鳌头？" Everybody knew what Shanghai--as well as Hong Kong--was
before Treaty of Nanking was signed in 1842.
For your informaiton, Shanghai was teh last , not 5口通商 独占鳌头 as you
alleged.

最近一直挺忙的，也没什么时间上网。看到大家抗议ABC的游行组织的很不错，
有了一些启发，不由得想起了张纯如。她九年前得十一月九号去世，终年只
有三十六岁。
回想起来，在美国的这么多年，最佩服的就是她了。虽然近年来，她的名气
冷淡下去，在湾区的华人圈里也少有人记得。但说起对美国华人的贡献，为华
人的付出，我觉得张纯如的作为远远超过了那些华裔政客，超过了大家熟知
的华裔的富豪们，甚至也超过了成龙李安这样的影视巨星。
在近现代的中国人里，张纯如算是个异数。以前好像有个文化人说过，汉人
刚猛，唐人豪放，宋人柔和，明人放诞， 只有明朝之后的中国人不好形容。
岂止是个性不好形容，四百年来中国人的社会道德也是变得非常的暧昧。在
一个推崇“多一事不如少一事”，“闷声发大财”的人群里，张纯如那样嫉恶

city?
(5)Why China paid money to Timperley for writing the Japan’s atrocity story
