据日本共同社5日报道,世界反兴奋剂机构(WADA)汇总的关于2018年禁止药物名
单中,新加入了使用可自由改变遗传基因的基因组编辑技术的基因兴奋剂。该名单将从
明年1月1日起生效。
基因组编辑可有效改良目标基因,是在治疗疾病和改良食物品种应用上备受期待的
新技术。该技术被评价为生命科学研究领域的“诺贝尔奖级别”,正迅速推广。虽然尚
无报告例子,但由于该技术被视为也可用于增强肌肉力量等提升运动能力,存在以兴奋
剂为目的使用的担忧。迎接2020年东京奥运会和残奥会,开发检查方法等或成为课题。
WADA把来自外部的DNA和改变基因的细胞注入人体旨在提升运动能力的行为视为“
基因兴奋剂”,一直以来予以禁止。若使用基因组编辑,或能够更简单巧妙地起到兴奋
剂的作用,因此决定在名单中明文禁止。
通过使用可导致基因组编辑的药物等有可能能够增强肌肉力量和耐力。如果在受精
卵阶段进行基因组编辑,生出天生就具备较高运动能力的“人造宝宝”也并非不可能。
