花了53050 points + $278.42. 总算把我卡上的points都用完了。去年订两张$550的机
票时，忘了有merrill + points, 用了UR points。
等机会用LD卡上的points。遗憾没有在申一轮merrill + 卡。真是神卡，颜值也高。

Merrill Edge的order type选项里只有个stop quote。
这是它们网页上的解释：
A sell stop quote order is placed at a stop price below the current market
price and will trigger if the national best offer quote is at or lower than
the stop price.
但是这个national best offer quote怎么理解？实际的已成交价？还是只是报价？
现在的问题是，有人现在post 出来了一个很低的bid，结果stop quote order的价格如
果设的比现在这个很低的bid低的话，merrill的系统就通不过，要求必须比这个bid低
。这什么意思？那么多人设止损order，难道一有人出个低于止损价的bid，merrill的
系统就让你成交？！ |

it is a good option, although I doubt you will need 30 free trade per month
. $25,000 requirement is cash in bank account, not asset. Platinum
Privileges client seems pretty new, and I am not sure the requirement is for
cash in BOA/Merrill or asset which include stocks, ETFs, MFs etc.
I suspect BAC do not care much about DIY retail investors, given their
wealth management side comes from Merrill Lynch.

For most of people, IB is an easier, a cheaper way to go.
I think Merril Edge is great for people who
1. have $25000 cash is less than 10% of the total value of assests combined.
2. trade less than 30 times a month.
3. only trade stock, ETF, MF, bond.
4. are US resident or citizen. I called many of the ME service staffs, they
all told me the US resident or citizen is required.

为了兼顾高利息和安全性，想买投资级的公司债。callable这个因素需要考虑么？
另外insured与否是什么意思？

agency债券是不是两房之类机构发的债？和公司债比收益率有优势么？

Although I have found Merrill's brokerage to be too conservative and blocks
trading on many ETFs and partnerships, some not even using leverage. For
those of course you want to leave at other brokerage. |

merrill travel center会直接显示需要redeem的点数，我想应该可以直接用点数付。
只是想得到2cent/p有点儿难度，每次maximum dollar value是500刀，25000起，按
2cent/p算；超过的部分如果有剩余点数，一定要用剩余点数按1cent/p来补。所以票价
在500刀左右的时候最划算，多太多或者少太多都不好。 |

around on wall street"，觉得这句话说得实在。Mr. Market 很多时候都是相当无厘
头的，被情绪而不是理性所支配。市场对影响金融市场的重大新闻的反应，往往出乎人
的意料。在９月３０号，美国众议院拒绝了救市方案后，股市的剧烈反应可以是说合乎
意料，但在１０月３号市场的变化，可以说是完全逆其道而行之。当天早上，当法案仍
然在国会辩论中时，市场充满对法案通过的期望，逐渐上升，但当法案真的顺利通过后
，情势却急转直下，Dow 从高点的１０７７０点一路下滑，收盘于１０３４０点。按照
事后诸葛亮的说法，法案通过后的市场下滑，是因为大家不再为法案通过与否而担心时
，却有了新的担忧，担心这７０００亿美元来得太晚，已经不能真正挽救市场了。正可
谓是成也是空，败也是空，总之天意难测。想在这种市场上投机，完全没有什么分析可
言，完全看运气啦。

超过25K就每个月免费交易30次, 超过100K每个月免费交易100次.
我的IRA账号在Merrill Edge. 链接 CMU 账号炒股, Margin account, 但从来没有借过
钱.
So far 唯一感觉不好的是不让炒 3X ETF, 波动大的ETF被限制了.
