不知道是不是向往 get married 是女孩子的专利，是女孩子对童话世界的幻想，
或是母爱天性的变版，反正妹妹谈到 get married 的话题比哥哥要多很多。从妈妈手
指上的小石头，到书架上的 wedding album，到她衣橱里飘着白纱的蕾丝裙子，都带给
她美好的憧憬。怪不得当年我实验室里生了两个女儿的巴西师姐坚决反对我用非洲旅行

household）。
nonresident alien（除了加拿大、墨西哥、和南韩的居民）不能报married filing
jointly。1040NR表上的Other married nonresident alien就是married filing
separately。married filing separately跟single差得远呢。married filing
separately的税率比所有其他filing status差。

Professor Zhang Bei-chuan of Qingdao University says the huge number of
women – equivalent to the population of the Netherlands – who have tied
the knot with gay men are struggling to cope.

was Ashley Hasti, CNN affiliate WCCO reported.

nonresident alien, check the Single box.后面有三个选项(Single, Married,和
Married, but withhold at higher Single rate) 我现在是填的Single. 请问是不是
应该选择Married或者第三项?Total number of allowances应该填几呢?
2. 我们应该联合报税(nonresident spouse treated as resident)？还是各自Claim
Single?
2 还可以享受F1的5k treaty吗？

An Argentinian judge has given a second gay couple permission to get married.
Judge Elena Liberatori ruled that the unnamed men in Buenos Aires were

中登记为single（小米要求的的，不知何故）。现在正考虑开设IRA，查看过精华区及IRS Pub
519/590得知，married NRA只能登记为 married filling separately (MFS)。而且，
居住在一起的MFS需要modified AGI少于$10k才可以投Roth IRA，而不居住在一起的MFS则
不受此限。不明白这是什么原因，为啥要单独跟住在一起的MFS过不去？年收入低于1万，在
美国很难存活吧？
问题1：我必须登记为MFS吗？能否跟学校payroll系统中一样，登记为single？会有什么潜在
的风险吗？因为各种保险、账户等都登记为married。或者，能否登记为不居住在一起的
MFS？税局是否会核查双方住址的一致性？
问题2：如果必须登记为居住在一起的MFS，不能投Roth，那能否投其他类型的IRA？590中的
表述有点复杂，没太看明白。:(
问题3：如果都不能的话，有没有办法规避此问题？其他结婚了的筒子们都是怎么处理的？
