速以平皿盛虾若干，仅观色形，便已垂涎。夹取一只，先吮壳外之附汁，后以手持
，拽去两钳。轻剥头壳，以露其脑，红浆黄油皆储于此，吮之，而后以舌取头壳中之遗
汁，边边角角， 以虾钳勾之。
食头毕，转攻其身，先将若干小腿咬下，咀之。然后以手由胸至腰剥其壳，及中段
而止。可见脊背边缘之肠线，取其一端轻拉，若虾鲜，则可整根取出，弃之。若断为数
节，则须一一清出。肠线清毕，余虾身半截去壳，半截连尾，乃西人食Cocktail之形态
。以手持尾，咬其身无壳之处。咬力不可过甚，过甚则虾身断，亦不可过微，过微则咬
不住。轻拽之，整只虾肉脱壳入口，即可大嚼也。若以虾肉沾取盘中烹调汤汁，味美尤
甚。吾见虾之时虽用餐以毕，仍连啖十余只，不在话下。
吾居之地，小龙虾虽罕，寻常青虾易得之。蒸煮烤炸，各具特色。吾独钟以油焖之

前天收到最新一期《国家地理》，昨天和今天早晨读完，讲NOLA的地理问题，wet land
erosion，工程设计、施工上的失误，多方面对城市未来的预测。有人建议把French
Quarter卖给Disney，彻底放弃NOLA，也有建议改变城市格局，放弃低洼地带，建设人
口更稠密的小城模式。不管哪种建议最后被采纳，NOLA的未来都很悲观。全球变暖，海
平面上升，湿地被腐蚀，基建缺乏资金，政府腐败。但无论如何，Tulane一位教授的话
给人以希望：如果不好好利用NOLA这次的机会，另辟蹊径想办法保护在全球变暖环境下
受威胁的沿海城市，建设一个可持续发展模型，那50年后，同样的问题也会被迈阿密、
波士顿还有纽约遇到。就好比荷兰人不会放弃阿姆斯特丹，意大利人不可能放弃威尼斯
一样，无论如何也要博一搏。

我同样觉得PE报名比考试难，报名过程极度曲折。。。
我是在louisiana报名的，因为louisiana可以没经验就考试，然后经验到了就发证。
我工作经验刚到2年，加上PHD算两年，等这次考试结果出来通过了就可以拿到PE了。
我的背景是本科环境科学，博士环境工程，大气方向。环境咨询公司air permitting/
compliance工作两年。
从佛州到atlanta转机到New Orleans，考场离开机场非常近。
考试其实真正用到的书就是PE reference manual和FE的公式（我觉得FE公式基本涵盖
了PE的考试范围）,我自己有几页纸的笔记，同时把reference manual里重要的10多页
附录复印下来装订在一起。
其他的书包括air pollution control, 101 solved engineering questions 还有一本
法规的书，基本没怎么用。
上午主要是水和废弃物，土壤这些。考试难度和sample questions 非常接近。我大概2

Caltech/MIT. There are theoretical groups on campus of both univs,
and two observatory sites, one at Hanford, Washington, one at Livingston,
Louisiana. The structures at both sites are the same: two 4-km tunnels

还是要去明尼苏达,拿屠龙刀法切鳝鱼了,只剩几个月时间,不敢等别的消息了.
饭铺说会去"又是谁碍事"(USCIS)城管队帮我申请哀屈枉签证.可没正式开工
之前还不敢放心,别象去年似的,煮熟的鸭子竟然飞了.但愿今年城管队的别碍事. |

发帖数: 41892 | 31 南方比北方尚武。一个原因就是南方奴隶制，比较多的白人富人子弟没啥事干，
没事就整天骑马打仗了。当时西点军校南方北方毕业生人数差不太多，但是
考虑到南方白人人口远少于北方，这个比例南方就高了。
另外还有一个原因也跟奴隶制有关，就是奴隶主发展生产力就一个法子，多
买奴隶多买地，所以南方人对美国扩张的兴趣比北方大很多。Louisiana是南方人
促动买下来的，整个TX, AR, CA, NV, NM都是南方人出人，从墨西哥人手里打下来的，
战斗经验比北方丰富。所以南方人也气不愤，南北战争前大多数美国领土都是
南方人搏命换来的，结果北方人利用人口优势在有投票权，把一半的打下来的领土
都变成非蓄奴州。南方人还琢磨这从西班牙手里买古巴来着，结果也被北方人在国会
里给搅黄了，不然现在卡斯特罗同学还搞不好能当美国总统呢 |
