基本上，都是合法的意思。legitimate通常强调合乎更高阶位的法律，比如自然法、正义
观念、国际公认的道义、革命理想、人民意志等等，当小词汇用的时候，可以翻译做合理
的/正当的等等。legal就是一般意义的合法，合乎现在的真正的法律，比如刑法、公司法
什么的。
和lawful相比，二者没有太大的区别，如果二者被区别运用的话，legal据说更加强调
表面上合法，比如手续完备，条件合格。lawful强调的是本质上合法。
本人理解，不一定对。仅供参考。 |

公司提供了类似医疗保险的legal service， 每年交几百刀就可以使用。不知道是不是

trainee，不够格做律师但也处理一些简单法律事务的有paralegal，下面就是legal
seretary之类的。
在中国的外所通常设有这么一个职位，其实就是paralegal，因为英美做paralegal要有
个certificate，中国没这个制度，所以就用legal assistant了，一般都是给那些在法
学院里刚毕业没有工作经验的。 |

难想象做家长的忧虑以及在念书的孩子心情。有时考虑想回国，但是国内的情形也好不
到哪去，回去后竞争又多，孩子可能也不想回去。Layoff有两个层面可说，一个是
legal另一个是practical的层面。Legal的层面可以很简单，那就是一被layoff身份就
自动消失，无须通知CIS。很多人以为只要公司不通知CIS，身份还是有效的，事实上是
不对的，往往有这样的误解，是因为CIS的系统里并不知道签证的持有人已经被layoff
所以CIS的系统上无法反应过来。即便能够反应过来也要好一段日子，而这之前申请人
恐怕又已转到别的签证身份上去，处理该申请的移民官并不知道或是没有去注意申请人
的真实情形，所以也就批准申请。这就是我们律师无法告诉客人被layoff会怎么样。因
