联邦疾病防治中心(CDC)说，截至21日，已证实在14个州造成55个人生病，八人不幸丧
生，包括新墨西哥州有四个人、科罗拉多州两人、奥克拉荷马和马里兰州各有一人。

《NIU的现状与发展 之 困难》一文）。NIU目前的组织构成及工作模式和效率已经不
能支持NIU的继续发展。不能继续发展，对于依靠各项目捐款而维持的组织来说，将意
味着死亡。所以我认为，NIU的改组迫在眉睫，势在必行！
以下是我个人规划的初步改组计划，有待理事会及目前活跃的所有NIU会员共同讨论并
做修改。一旦我们对此达成共识，我们将以新的流程开始工作，以实现NIU的第二次创
业！
1、 形象和目标的转变
A、强调NIU是维护美国新移民（目前暂限于华人移民）权益的非赢利性组织这一概念。
B、绿卡问题，从目前最核心的问题，转变为目前项目之一。
说明：A中的概念，在NIU成立时即存在并作为NIU的基本原则。只不过由于NIU至今所有
的工作全部基于绿卡问题，所以并没有强化这个概念。

今天刚看了AVATAR。唉，不得不感叹差距是越来越大了。
大概两个月以前去听了Henrik Wann Jensen的报告，得知Jensen被WETA DIGITAL请去工
作了一段时间，主要是为了AVATAR里娜美人的皮肤。AVATAR也可能是第一部充分利用“
Light Diffusion in Multi-Layered Translucent Materials”和“A Spectral
BSSRDF for Shading Human Skin”成果的电影。这两篇文章都已经发表了好几年，也
只是现在才完全得到应用。所以大家才见到了迄今为止最真实的计算机生成的皮肤。当

今天刚看了AVATAR。唉，不得不感叹差距是越来越大了。
大概两个月以前去听了Henrik Wann Jensen的报告，得知Jensen被WETA DIGITAL请去工
作了一段时间，主要是为了AVATAR里娜美人的皮肤。AVATAR也可能是第一部充分利用“
Light Diffusion in Multi-Layered Translucent Materials”和“A Spectral
BSSRDF for Shading Human Skin”成果的电影。这两篇文章都已经发表了好几年，也
只是现在才完全得到应用。所以大家才见到了迄今为止最真实的计算机生成的皮肤。当
时据Jensen说， AVATAR的CG制作规模绝对是空前的。
