Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced today that the team
has signed guard Ishmael Smith to a multi-year deal.
Smith (6-0, 175, Wake Forest) led the Rockets in assists per game during the
2010 NBA Summer League, finishing with averages of 7.8 points (.581 18-31
FG) and 4.8 assists in five games (five starts) with Houston.

Jobs就是现代的Ishmael。Ishmael跟他的母亲被其父亲及其女主人（Sarai/Sarah）驱
逐流放完全是无辜的。除了出身卑微的、母亲是奴隶之外没其他不及Israel的地方，他
是Israel的亲生哥哥，而且从没做过伤害父母弟弟的事。因为出身，他只能接受自生自
灭的命运。但在沙漠恶劣的环境中Ishmael靠自己创造出自己的天地，带领同样生存于
沙漠中的人过上另一种生活。也同样的可惜，Ishmael没有活过他父母跟弟弟的天年，
也是英年早逝。
出身卑微跟命运曲折的知名人都是比同样开名的富人更有感染力的。这是一种人的天性

哥。虽然季后赛一直无所作为，好歹也算破了处。和肉末一起把comeback wins 刷上了
新的高度。但是，没有季后赛的legacy没有戒指，仍然只是一个above average QB, 总

经上说的神创论更没证据，也更不值得相信。
真是闭上眼什么都能说, 你也可以说唐朝从没存在过。什么是科学？科学是可以用来对
事实做预测的，而且没有被任何事实证伪的理论。进化论是被无数事实检验过（而且从
没被证伪）的科学。进化论没有什么信不信的，只有愿不愿意面对事实。

但是确实有很多人不喜欢《Moby-Dick》，特别是Melville同时代的人。Melville死后
多年，大家才说这是个名著。作者活着的时候，对于这部作品寄予了很大的希望，但是
始终没有被大家接受，可以说是太超前了吧。显然，他早期的作品，例如《Typee》，
一夜走红，但是他精心雕琢的《Moby-Dick》，却完全没有人买账。后来，这部作品被
认为是one of the best literary works of all times。
不喜欢他的这本名著，可能是因为作者喜欢搞现在时兴的Info dump，说着故事来着，
忽然讲解一段关于鲸鱼的自然历史和解刨，然后还用一大堆偏难怪的单词，逼着大家都
去查字典，而且很多词字典小了的都查不着。作者的Prose还是相当古怪的，那一开头
的独白：
