WHY can't you guys just learn from this story!!! I didn't feel much attitude
from LZ's post. Frankly, I feel what we lack during job hunting is the

周末投的resume，昨天HM发email过来问啥时候available for interview，回曰每天2:
45pm (PST)，原本以为HM都很忙怎么也拖到下周了，正好周末准备一下。不想HM今天回
email说就今天吧，今天面。顿时惊了，今天还得上班根本没一点时间准备。。。可是
无奈人家都说了也就只好硬着头皮从之。
结果因为没准备不是一般的紧张，口舌发硬。本来tm英语就不好，再加上舌头跟牙齿干
仗，说出来的话连自己都听不懂。头脑更是一片空白，连最熟悉的东西都只能一通胡擂
。最不幸的是整天抱着WSJ，MarketWatch看本以为finance news应该都能答出来，结果
人家一问也瞎了。。。光tm注意看跟炒股最相关的消息了，却忽视掉了比较general的
。。。后来又被问到知不知道他们公司的division。。。更是根本没来得及看呢，直接
回答I don't know。。。sigh，估计给HM的印象就是口吃+混混。。。

职位是financial software developer
背景是EE，其他的就不说了
另外我还是尽量不放上面试的问题，以免以后碰到不必要的麻烦。我碰到的careercup
上都有，如果有需要的就直接去careercup上把题全都做一遍吧。
在网上申请了大概3个月以后，收到了一个online test的通知，所以各位没有收到通知
的同学也不用着急，处理时间有时候会很久。因为当时邮件没有仔细阅读，只看到
three days，其实人家说的是3天之内抽空去做完。立即点击link，输入id，开始做题。
结果一下子我就傻了，一开始做题就开始倒计时，每道题2分钟左右。我当时在一个特
别吵闹的环境中，旁边还有个不识趣的人一直在跟我说话。题目全是一些logical test
，后来证明对于CS的，这个online test会考某一具体语言，而对于非CS的，会考此类
logical test。题目还是很简单的，并不需要怎么准备，我做完的第二天就收到了预约
phone interview的通知。

想问一下这个thesis review是什么意思啊？我还在写我自己的phd thesis，目前还没写
完，难道一定要带着自己的final thesis去onsite吗？能否带自己发表的论文去啊？th

presentation/discussion; I hadn't even started writing my thesis when I
had the thesis interview. Your recruiter should be able and willing to
answer this question and you should check with her.

replied can indicate that he is a very confident guy. Usually the leader is
the authority and people who are not sure about themselves might just agree
with the leader. But LZ insists his way because he is confident that his
method is correct.
Of course, there is no correct answer for behavior questions I think, it all
depends on the specific group or hiring manager. Maybe behavior questions

自己最enjoy什么，为什么想去facebook。我感觉这个人有一点和其他intervieer很不一样的是不想我说太多
，这些问题其他公司interview的时候也问过。每次我都说得比较详细具体，而其他公
司的人也比较希望我解释的具体一点，但这个人打断我两三次，前一个问题我还没说完
就问我一个问题。
接着就是去collabedit上写code，给一个rotated sorted array和一个integer，判断
这个integer是否在这个array里面。写得过程比较没有什么interaction，叫我写完以
后叫他，我觉得比较尴尬。
我的做法是binary 找出minimun element index,再binary search。
写完的时候，整个interview刚过43分钟，我以为是一个小时的interview他会问下一题
，结果他就直接问我又没有什么问题。我有点傻眼了，从来没有phone screen只答一道

目参考作用一般吧。
首先是申summer intern时的两次电面。记不清楚了，能想起多少coding题就写多少，
杂七杂八的问题就忽略了。当时准备得不充足，答得不太好，居然能过电面，实在幸运。但最终也没
能去成……
第一面，三哥：
1. A string consists of parentheses and brackets for example "(()([]))",
check if it is well formed. 经典题，我用stack做的。刚才顺手看了下当时写的代码，发
现还是有bug……

到OFFER，也碰道过去催RECRUITER结果不被理睬或催来个据信。
所以现在久是INTEVIEW后FORGET ABOUT IT，感觉THANK YOU LETTER也一点用没有，没

interview, 而且没有收入, 还有家小要负担. 我知道他的问题并不简单, 就和他商量
各种渠道尽快就业. 我们改了cover letter 和CV, 又让他看了专门教人找工作的书.
然后我问他是否想在不放弃本行的基础上, 试相关行业.
他同意了. 我有相关行业的有关信息, 包括工作分析, 就业前景和薪资范围. 他选了一
行. 我们于是积极准备, 在工作没有变成广告之前联系到雇主(This is called
networking). 他每天都花至少8小时在图书馆看我教他看的相关专业书(我尽量找与客
户相关行业的professional, 一起商量如何帮助客户, 所以我们的建议总是很有效).
我教他如何写email和雇主套辞, 然后大家一起合计如何准备interview.从穿衣打扮开
始, 到对待interview的illegal question 和behavior question. 机会来了, 他先后
拿到那个相关行业排名第三和第二的雇主的面试.

一般无经费PIOT STUDY采用IN DEPTH INTERVIEW，但是问的问题都是要围绕一个主题的
若干方面进行深入的采访才行。一般这种每个INTERVIE都要1,2小时，多的花要分几次
进行。另外问题的草稿也是一修再修保证既要达到收集数据的目的，又要维护住对方的
耐心。对方的耐心随时间流逝，错误无效信息会提高。通常这种情况是用录音做的，事
后进行整理编码分析专门有个分析过程叫”QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS 跟大规模的量化数
据分析（QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS)比如人口统计，学生体检，学生考试抽检对应。没有
人会用笔回答INDENPTH INTERVIEW，会觉得累死。大规模数据调查一般是选A,B,C,D，
或者填写个数字都要防止被访者的耐心下降
