prematch!说是已经给我发了email offer prematch,希望我能考虑加入他们的program.
其实，我在他们program面试结束时，PD就情真意切的对我说，我是他们目前面试下来
最好的applicant,他把我放在prematch list上的number one. 要不是他们program规定
要每两周集体讨论再决定，他很想当天就发prematch给我。还叫我两周内，等他电话。
说实在的，这个program是我面试过的5个programs中最好的，也是我个人最喜欢的。我
今年就报了IM，也只报了76个programs，但我收了20个IM interview invitations. 而
且通过我面试过的5家，那些PD们对我的重视度，和我对其他applicants（AMGs and
IMGs) 的了解，我知道我的实力是不容质疑的。如果我继续走下去，可能会有更好的
offer,因为我剩下的15个IV,还有相当不错的programs。但我应该会从了，我毕竟不是

1. Brooklyn, 2，5号地铁直接到。Pg里印度人居多，也有不少黑人。这是我面的唯一的一个fm，10月份接到一个电话，安排在之后的一周。
2. 每年收6个，算是fm里average水平。一半时间在downstate，另一半时间在kings county。 Kings county非常新，颇有五星级宾馆的架势。
3. 听他们pc说一共要发75个interview，感觉match比例还比较高。
4. 当天面试有两三个amg，剩下的除了我都是老印，两个面试官，pd每个人都见，会让present case还有medical questions。其他他们比较在意为什么选择family medicine，这个问题要回答好，convincing并不是很容易，因为我们那边没有fm这科。
5. 一个pgy-1带着tour的，他很喜欢这里，在他认为他们所涉及IM部分的培训和IM program没有什么差异，另外这里只走match，pd不会跟你透半点口风，所以如果喜欢他们就直接rank好了。

especially some community IM programs).
Preliminary medicine (1 year) is harder to get, and it's helpful to build-up
US clinical experience. Yes you will need to apply for a PGY-2 or
categorical position, and the worst case, another PGY-1 position.
Preliminary surgery is actually not that easy to grab. Many programs
purposely let those positions unfilled during match, so people matched to an
advanced program only can scr |

transitional,不知道够不够。申请neuro的同仁们讨论一下吧，也请过来人提供宝贵经

know IM is not mentioned in the letters. I wonder if the ERAS system allows
me to use these letters for FM application. I should have asigned the
letters to all specialties.

your medical degree >10 years ago.
totally we have 55 IM programs in NY.
1) for those programs that have given IVs to CMGs (goodgene's list), you
should DEFINITELY apply! this will constitute >30% of your IVs.
2) for those programs that have ever given IVs to IMGs (from usmleforum.com)
, you should consider applying for them. It is worth of the money.

PS, one more example of the importance of connections. It seems SLU is
pretty crazy about the YOG, but I know a guy who is a junior faculty in St
Louis Univ, and his wife (YOG>15ys) got into IM residency last year.

我们是一个mid-sized, community based and university affiliated IM program。
就IM categorical而言,在过去的几年里，AMG (including DO) 的比例一直稳定在是30
-40%。但是，加勒比的
毕业生比例一直在增加，今年达到了40%，另外有来自欧洲的一个。结果从前一直三分
天下的印巴只有两个位置，CMG则是零。
总而言之，印巴中的蛋糕会越来越小,考版要抓紧，夜长梦多。 |

Path： UB, Case Western, SUNY Downstate是传统CMG friendly pg. 但Case今年开始
设YOG<10yr limit, SUNY Downstate近两年招CMG PGY-0逐年减少。好消息是，发现ECU
是新兴CMG friendly pg, 应该是前面CMGs resident&attendings共同努力的硕果。
UAMS三年前换了IMG PD，自此向IMG逐年打开大门，担至今无CMG resident。
IM去得不多，到哪儿都是和世界各国YOG<3yr 手拿大把iv的candidates血拼，偶尔
碰上些AMG骄傲得不得了。最后还是去path舒心。也希望每一位进pg的CMG把握好机会，
打好基础，给我们CMGs开更多的路子！ |

感觉今年网上的气氛与往年大不相同。往年这时候，不论是IVs还是Rejs都已经是长长
的一串了但今年基本没人报。我过去把申请的PG分为几类：别人接到IV而我没有的，说
明这个PG我没戏；别人接到Rej而我没有的，说明这个PG我还有戏，于是赶紧去骚扰。
那是不是鲜有人接到IV呢？非也！只是不愿说出来而已。IM我不太清楚，但病理10月一
开始就有大量的IVs从大学programs涌向CMG，有不少是Top Program。我想今年的形势
至少不比去年差。
问题是IM招的多，报的也多，每个program都能收到3000到5000，发300到500的IVs。据
我了解的一些情况，program会把AMGs和突出的挑出来发IVs，把不合胃口的filter掉发

点进去的。如果不当义工的话很难确保名额。
也可以在general entry满了之后报ironman foundation的名额，报名费加倍。2012的
IM AZ Foundation名额在开放之后1个月内也报满了。
IM St George倒是常年有名额。。。 |

现在 open water 长距离游泳突然间变成我必须花大力气要解决的。昨天
Milwaukee Aquathon(1k swim, 5k running) swim 暴露了太多的问题。
主要原因就是open water 游的太少。
6月17日 镇江奥运距离 1.5K swim, 进30分钟
7月22日 70.3 swim 进40分钟
目标： 8月2日 Milwaukee Aquathon(1k swim, 5k running) swim 进18分钟
8月19日 IM swim course 2.4 miles 进 1：30
8月23日 Milwaukee Aquathon(1k swim, 5k running) swim 进17分钟

今年要游进1:39, 估计都够呛。positive的就是， 游好之后丝毫不影响我的自行车。
昨天71 miles one loop on IM bike course, 感觉比较轻松。
清晨驾车，远远的看见湖面上橘黄色的浮漂，感觉真好。
今年冬天游泳感觉最好的时候，一次GYM里面跑步，偶然往下望。看见一个肥胖的老头
在游泳池里
游泳，好像挣扎一样。我恶心了1个多月都没去游了。算是冬天游泳白练了。 |

整个过程中她语气非常傲慢，就像在训斥下属一般。最后的时候她说需要其他同事的
WRITTEN FEEDBACK，我就问她能不能把当时的聊天记录发给那几个同事，她说OK。后来
我就把这个聊天记录发给了那几个她要求给FEEDBACK的同事，同时抄送了她的领导和我
的领导。今天她的领导过来说我做得非常过分，因为IM的聊天记录是涉及隐私，不能公
开。但是以前也发生过类似的事情，我当时没有证据所以说不清楚。我觉得虽然是聊天
，但也是交流的一种方式，为什么记录不能作为电子证据呢？我个人觉得她老板非常有

Hofstra: MSF
优势 学分比STJ少，没要我多修那么多，9个学分的话，学费就便宜1万刀，好像也要上
语言，但是语言课比STJ便宜，只要2000刀；
劣势 地理位置差， 安全性差，要买车
各位学长看看，STJ值不值得我多花那1万4千刀？这俩学校每个学分价格类似， 都是
1100刀左右，H稍便宜些。 |

When I started running this year, around April, I was 108 lbs. I lost 3 lbs
in the first two months, which I think is mainly water, plus, mileage is not
large. Now I'm ~101 lbs, and I truely believe it's because I always run in
the afternoon, usually 8-10 pm, and I don't usually eat after running. so,
in around 5-6 weeks, with high mileage, I lost 4 more pounds. 4 pounds are
not much if I weight 120 lbs now, but it is quite much because Im already
