好好学习一下黑猫同学的精神。他老人家当年把所有精华区的文章和mit的文章都认真
看完后总结的。现在同学们连精华区都不好好学习了。

发帖数: 31 | 7 preliminary只是第一年的位置（PGY-1），catogorical是三年的位置（PGY-1 through
PGY-3），preliminary是为一些Advanced Program准备的，象有些麻醉Program从PGY-
2开始，你自己就需要找第一年的位置。
preliminary year有三种选择，preliminary surgery， preliminary IM 和
Transitional。
相比之下，Transitional很难申请，preliminary surgery比较容易申请，但是较累。
preliminary IM比catogorical IM难申请。

Some AMG may use it as a transitional step for their ROADS (R-radiology, O-
oncology, A- anesthesiology, D-dermatology, S...forgot :), anyway it is more

work hours, low patient loads, above average working conditions, and
typically low on-call time.）。
最近有E-ROAD的说法，加上Emergency Medicine。

for match the next year again? What if people cannot find a place to further
go ahead with residency training? Wouldn't it be safer to find a 3 years

US clinical experience. Yes you will need to apply for a PGY-2 or
categorical position, and the worst case, another PGY-1 position.
Preliminary surgery is actually not that easy to grab. Many programs
purposely let those positions unfilled during match, so people matched to an
