As an Asian American woman and a Harvard-educated "Chinese" mother, I find this book disturbing in its negative stereotyping and promotion of extreme parenting. I have known dozens of "Chinese" mothers - immigrants and American born alike - and none who have inflicted the type of punishment and "parenting" found in this book. 发帖数: 5385 | 15 今天被朋友邀请去了一个比较远一点的教会, 很巧的是, 今天是中秋, 但同时也是这个教
会11年的anniversary. 看了他们的video关于教会11年的成长和members在教会中的生
活点滴, 很感动他们的团结友爱和对主的坚固信仰. 同时也很高兴和他们一起buffet,
温馨的感觉, 食物都是每家每户自己做, 或者买, 然后带来的. 很多时候都觉得, 如果
是church member的话, 感觉就是个大家庭一样, 这个中秋, 孤单的我, 在教会大家庭
中找到了温暖. 因为也逢中秋佳节, 还和他们介绍了中国中秋节的传统习俗, 虽然他们
对moon cake不是很了解, 我就拿了那个apple pie做了个类比, 呵呵.
在讲道前的choir里, 有个表演是孩子们唱那首"seek ye first", 幼稚的童声唱着那首
很简单又琅琅上口的hymn, 让我想起我第一次唱赞美诗的时候, 也是同样一首歌....很
美好的感觉.
有几次, 也是被邀请去一个越南朋友的越南教会, 同样是个大家庭, 特别有新意, 一次
是在湖面上的sunday service, 然后在湖边烧烤...在感受他 |
