院子太大了,算上房子总共8800 sf，前主人弄了很多园艺花草，不知道我们能不能把这些花养活。
周末第一次去逛了lowes，homedepot这些家居店，感觉不知道买什么工具，最后买了铲
子，修剪树枝和灌木丛的家伙，小锄头等，不知道哪位有经验的说一下哪些是必须的且
是最基本的yard tools. 我在网上搜了一个list，是不是这些都需要买？

定位，拉线(16x5),把草剪最低，下锹把土翻起来，晒几天，把草捡走（这步最累，草
长出来不容易，移走更不容易），上compost
周末买点菜秧种上，试情况明年扩大再生产。

1) rake the yard clean of all debris and large rocks. that includes the
weeds. We did on our own, some ppl rented a bobcat if the lawn is big.

a bow rake
steel round point shovel
hoe (super handy)
hand trowel
hand rake
pruner (couple ones in different size)
wheelbarrow
pairs of garden gloves
能想起来的就这么多吧。

下，用铁耙(Rake)能弄掉大概40-50%的死草。然后用锄头（Hoe）一点点的挨个清除死
草，效率太慢。弄了1小时，只弄了草坪的一个小角落。后来戴手套直接拔枯草，有些
可以连根拔出来。但是考虑到整个草坪的面积，顿时没有信心，坚持了10几分钟就放弃
了。
准备找公司来做这个。1）用电动rake，去除草坪上所有的枯死草以及土壤里面的草根
。2）给土地打孔。3）院子有一些小鼓包和小洼坑，也让公司把草坪弄平整（leveling
）。
只要这些步完成了，我就可以撒草籽了。 |

因为老婆J1是国家公派，所以不能豁免。我是J2身份，拿到了一个PHD的offer，咨询了
学校律师，建议去加拿大直接转F1签证。
8月12号学校才寄出I20，为了提前约签证，让他先告诉了I20上的号码。交完费，填好
，就发现多伦多15号早上8点有空位，赶紧约上。13号收到学校快递，买了13号晚上的
票。14号早上6点到buffalo，入关，简单为了几个问题，没有收I94.
9点到多伦多灰狗站，在priceline上bid的Downtown的酒店，4星，76+tax，走路到大使
馆25分钟，环境很好。酒店3点才能住，所以把行李寄存，在Downtown附近到处转了转
，去了CN tower。
沿着安大略湖走回酒店。
