我自己不做这个领域，但是了解一点情况，我原来的研究和同学里面做这个领域的不少
。所以说点个人看法。

，不过你拿到她面试机会不大。。除非开会套瓷或者有人介绍。。
paul sterburg@CAltech，手下做什么的都有，你有idea的话会很舒服，不过应该很难
进。
robert horvitz 很难进，不说了。

Shen kang@stanford HHMI 超新星，近5年线虫领域最火的老板之一，人接触过感觉很
聪明，听说人也很nice，实验室很大，倾向于自带干粮的博后，很会卖故事，跟顶级杂
志的编委关系很好，虽然我个人觉得他做得手段有点无聊。
Eric Jorgensen@UTah& HHMI:学校不太有名，但是水平很高，人接触过，感觉随和。手
下人出路很好。
Josh Kaplan@HMS ，人据说很nice，文章基本neuron以上，手下出路很好，实验室不大。

and it's amazing that you got interview after a phd in China.You must have
fairly good background.
It's normal to let the candidate have on-campus interview, the question is
whether he will pay for your travel expense~
he is going to give lecture on one of my course tomorrow, maybe I can tell
you more about him tomorrow.. |

he already asked for the references and he wonder whether i planned to go to
US for postdoc interviews this year. there are two problems:
1. travel expenses
2. visa issue
unfortunately,i wouldn't attend the worm meeting this year, so it would be
excellent if by any chance he could chat with me over Skype.

小提醒：有的老板会要求视频，我想倒不是看你长得帅不帅，很多是为了防止你语音面
试的时候念事先准备好的稿子。。。所以如果要视频的话提前做好准备。 |

发帖数: 1125 | 9 上次跟oliver hobert聊天，（做线虫的，发现了线虫里面几个比较重要的microrna 调
控神经元的不对称发育）。
他自己认为，软件算法预测microrna基本是扯淡的，难度太大，太不准确。
在线虫里面最早的microrna发现是靠正向遗传筛选发现的，在高等动物／细胞里实现有
点困难。。。
至于从某个基因出发找可能调控的microrna。
（1）生物信息预测：当然可能都是错的，需要实验验证。
（2）有商业化的micro-array，你可以ko/kd你那个基因然然后比较跟野生型哪些
microrna上调下调了。。。虽然我觉得也很不靠谱，但是有一些大文章就是这么干的。 |

William Schafer@cambridge, postdoc with C.Kenyon, 原来在UCSD。据说人不错。
做神经环路，文章不算多（实验室很小），但是几乎都是neuron以上的级别，这周刚又
来了篇nature。
zhang yun@harvard phd with marty chalfie, postdoc@bargmann，算是血统高贵了，
手下亚洲人多了点，但是独立以后文章不错，做得东西也挺有意思。
shawn Xu@michigan，postdoc @sternberg,现在线虫领域的rising star中牛吧，文章
非常好，这期cell还有一篇。手底下中国人比较多，但是出来找到独立教职的都好几个
了，所以感觉还比较支持，具体人品不了解。
ERIK jorgensen@UTAH，postdoc@horvitz, HHMI，人接触过感觉很不错（具体就不知了
），做得东西比较稳定，挺热衷于新技术，手下人出路很不错。

不好意思..我不知道是我的系统还是怎么的，你人不在线我就没法回复你的短信，所以
还是在这里回复吧。
线虫现在国内做的人已经比较多了，也属于比较冷门不太好拿经费的领域，所以做薄后
还是去选大牛实验室或者能发CNS级（最起码子刊）水平得实验室吧，线虫领域EMBO J/
CUR BIO以下级别得杂志基本找工作不是特别容易。跟人家做临床疾病相关得还是比不
了的。我知道的线虫领域得千青最近就算放水也是2篇cell子刊起得..当然特例总是有
的。
nice不nice我就不清楚了，你面试得时候自己可以打听对吧？
欧洲这边得老板我更熟悉，北美的都是传闻，这个需要你自己去了解判读。
欧洲真正有级别得线虫老板很少，手底下出路比较好的tony hyman@MPI CBG应该是最牛
的了，瑞士的hengartner已经昨日黄花，基本中心在行政管理了。德国还有个做线虫衰
老的，国内上海生化所刚回去一个PI shenyidong你可以跟他打听去。
荷兰的korswagan也有子刊的水准，另外cambridge LMB的两个做神经的组不错，
