full suspension是有drop的时候可以比较舒服吧；cross country race一般都是
hardtail，downhill就是把车运到山顶然后一路猛冲下来。各种车geometry不同，所以
适用的地形和场合也不同。一般来说Hardtail with good front suspension就可以了
，这样速度也快，也还比较comfortable。full suspension可能没骑过，无法评价。 |

mooth说得有些过头了，hardtail还是有市场的，可能芝加哥附近trail比较难比较
rocky，但在我们多伦多附近真没必要上full-suspension，XC比赛时会损失很多速度。

发帖数: 1235 | 8 首先这一批人都是serious about bikes, 首先和我将$500将以下的, 就不要看了. 我
在 bikesdirect上看了两辆hardtail的MTB, 让他们给参谋一下, 一看就告诉我是junks
. 当然他们的眼光很高很挑剔是一方面, 另一方面他们也告诉我,BD上的车看上去都配
了不错的component, 象Shimano Deore, disc brake, 但是frame就比较烂. 反正就是
牺牲了一些重要的方面才会比较便宜. 当然, 如果你感兴趣, 还是应该到cycling版上
去问问, 至少有两个人提过, 他们的车是在那买的. 比较了解情况.
我现在的状况本来也上不了真正的trail, 就是给自己一个cross training的机会. 这
车虽然没有suspension, 大家都说车况不错, 如果只在路上骑, 我是骑不烂这车的. 75
刀骑着锻炼加commute还是很值了. |

呵呵，首次发帖就闹了笑话，让罐兄LOL了一把，我已经找了块豆腐撞过了，现在继续
问问题。
如果没有准备在石头上蹦，只打算在路上骑骑，有没有必要买STUMPJUMPER这类车？是
不是一般的HARDTAIL的MTB也就足够了？ROAD BIKE总觉得轮子太单薄了，还有就是这车是一次投资好的还是先来个简单便宜的玩着先。还有就是像一些年代久远的车，也是XT什么的配件，但是是否还是可靠，另外是不是如果出问题，找配件会比较麻烦？谢谢 |

good bike for off-roading, but won't be as good on pavement and would be a
thief magnet on campus.
of course, you can get the apache and pick up some cheap bike for the
commuting job.

walmart bike还是可能的。当然JJ同学的车是hardtail...
我最近骑一个我很熟悉的路线, 1000刀的road bike, 33.75 mile, 只停红绿灯，喝水
是边骑边喝，连红绿灯时间是2小时01分(gps)，不计等灯时间是1小时56分(bike
computer)，已经是俺的极限了。 |

New Waverly 在houston的北边，离我所住的KATY还是挺远，大概一个半小时的
车距。清晨5：30起床，稍有些疲倦，因为前一天晚上因为一些事情睡得太晚，靠近12
点才上床。稍微吃了东西算作早餐，收拾了一下，然后开车去接了下我的 carpool伙伴
Kent,然后开了一个多钟头到达了目地地。这个不属于Charity Ride, 中间的休息站很
少，就2个，人数也没有上一次多。 在起点我很吃惊的看到一位老兄骑的hardtail山地
车，我恭维的说"tough man", "strong man",他老兄自我解嘲说自己是"crazy man"，
对于2周后的MS150,2天180mile的ride,他的车就是他的山地车，"ride what I have",
后来在大概半途一个上坡，我又看到了他吃力地在爬坡，当我pass他时，我又恭维了他
一句"strong man". 途中一位老年rider(大概70左右)真是让我佩服，爬坡能力非常强

2. In general aluminum frame is harsh and steel is more compliant. Good and
poorly designed/made aluminum frames have huge difference in riding
characteristics as well as life span. Without test ride you might end up
with a big unpleasant surprise when you receive the bike. Steel frames on
the other hand, are simpler. The main difference between a high-end and a
low-end steel frame is the weight.

later in the year on a steel single speed.
2015 Plan：
1. Continue to commute on bike when temperature is above 28. (not today :)
2. Acquire a steel hardtail 29er; start riding local easy trails at least 5
times
3. No more new bikes (other than the 29er) and keep on riding! |

，xc racing也开始有后减震车了。从enduro往上直到downhill,没有后减震基本是找死

据说先骑downhill容易养成好习惯，一开始就上full suspension据说会有些技术细节
就忽略过去了，因为full suspension太容错了。

费的 2016 bike demo.
虽然已经骑了2 laps，大概9迈， 1000ft 的爬升。 看着免费的份上，排队demo了
2016 scott genius 700SL full suspension. 先谈一下配置，
carbon frame, 27.5 carbon wheel, 全套XTR, 2x11, fox front suspension 150mm
travel with 3 mode: open, traction and close. 2.25" nic nobby tires, drop
post. 全车重25.5 lb.
和工作人员一聊，被告知，“this is a trail bike, not targeting cross country,
but it will be a very fun bike". 骑了一个loop, 事实证明专家的话，very true.

压，接触面积更大
DH bike角度更加aggressive，重心更后移，更加自信。
trail bike上山明显赶不上hardtail，DH bike上坡基本靠推
当然最终还是技术 呵呵 |

given the money, It's a compromise I feel ok to take.
there is also the 27.5(+) trend. I would prefer 650b wheels because they are
just more proportional. But then again, bikesdirect is a bit behind and is
probably why they can get is cheap.
a bigger thing to me is that the setup seems between xc and trail. It has a
bit long chainstay, the 120mm fork will also relax the head angle. is that a

decision I have made getting into a new sport. I like the new me. will
report back how I like it.
I figure if I need real milage to decide on the size and geo of the bike, I
might as well go all in on the parts given the frame is free anyway.
we all know what this can lead to (if all goes well): Leadville 100. my boss
has already signed up the lottery for the run after finishing it this year.

amazon上挑个十几块钱的估计质量更好，等不及bikesdirect寄过来。架子质量很高，
焊接很漂亮，悬挂系统支轴很粗大，非常结实紧凑。现在当hardtail来骑，等待换掉后
减震器。29“轮子外加高前叉真是很威风！ |

KING FISH （平均10-80磅，KEY WEST 常见20-70磅）
钓法： 1. 慢速拖钓（1-3英里）wire line ,Trolling in 10-20 fathoms.
2. Drift fishing ，Wire line ，水深最好40-150 Feet。这个还
真不好翻，就是利用水流漂移，自然将鱼钩缓缓送出，在
水流冲击下，鱼饵会飘至约50-100 Feet离船的距离。

hardtail, lady fish, mackerel。大部分人都是打酱油的。据说4月份的时候可以钓钓
