reported that San Francisco and Cleveland discussed a trade for the coach,
one of the themes has been that Harbaugh is difficult to deal with.
He and GM Trent Baalke don't always get along. He wants to be paid like a
top coach and isn't happy San Francisco won't do that for him. And now Ann
Killion of the San Francisco Chronicle writes that some 49ers players are

Friday, according to team and league sources.
The 49ers announced a news conference scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET, but did

Before moving to Stanford in 2007, Harbaugh's only head coaching experience
was 3 years at a non-scholarship school in division I-AA. In Harbaugh's
first year as head coach, Stanford finished with a 4-8 record, an
improvement over 1-11 the year before and included the biggest point-spread
upset in NCAA history (over USC as 41 point underdogs), but this is not
enough to nearly match RR's resume.

replacing a single player is still a lot easier than replacing an entire
team (starters and backups) that were recruited for the spread option
with players that fit a pro-style offense.
If Harbaugh ultimately wants to go to the NFL, it doesn't make sense
for him to go to Michigan and spend 3-4 years rebuilding.

Jack Harbaugh at Westen Michigan. They have strong ties with Harbaugh family
. Harbaugh's both OC/DC this year were from Michigan families. So they have
strong ties to Michigan too.
Mattison's defense has been solid at Michigan, ND, Florida. He missed two
National Championships right after he left the program, 1997 Michigan and
