on the other hand, the long-time separation and lonliness
makes the home-coming extremly sweet and satisfying...
not that I prefer it, but it is a fact in life: the longer
you want something , the happier when you get it.
BTW, can I have ur phone number?

Hehe, thanks for the input here, all is appreciated.
While LNKD goes to IPO, price goes from $80 --> $120 --> $80 in a couples
days, I saw a lot analysis that the fare market value is around $40, and the
put's price is more expensive than call. 1.5 years passed, LINK stably goes
to $110.
A few months ago, FB goes to IPO, when the price dropped from $34 to around
$20, there are a lot analysis, the fare market value is $13-15, the price
will drop a lot after 11/2012, when the employees are allowed... 阅读全帖

manager's first priority is making the subordinates happy becoz manager's
performance comes from the subordinates' outcome.
manager should well master politics so that the performance of the team can be
outstanding over others. manager should try to get the team more promotion
opportunities -- in turns, team members will be happier.

I'd take any offer to be able to stay in CA where I've been living for
7 years now. There're way more opportunities here than midwest for professional growth. I used to live in midwest and hated it. I'd never been able to earn the
kind of living that I now enjoy had I chosen to stay in midwest... Almost all of my friends in midwest have moved out of the area to DC/New England/CA or TX/AZ/WA/CO/FL.
Of course, it depends on your personality too. If you don't care about
opportunities for $150K+... 阅读全帖

Half of your waking time is working, therefore if you do not like your job,
it will hurt your health as well as happiness.
If the company is not big enough to have internal transfer, then you should
find another job. You don't have to leave right away, but keep looking until
you find a better job. If you can find a way to reach someone above the
managers, then try to make yourself known. As EE Ph.D you should be making
inventions and coding your own programs (do not let the company known since

I say to change your job.
My argument is an emotional one rather than a logical one.
Do what you love and follow your passion. Life is short.
If you don't like it, then quit. There is no point to beat yourself up to it
.
I quite my previous jobs too and felt so much happier.

Nothing in our life is everything.
Our needs are multifaceted. Maslow's hierarchy of needs explains this very
well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maslow%27s_hierarchy_of_needs
No single one need is better than the other. We need that whole mixture.
Also, with that mixture, or the feeling of wholeness of ourselves, nothing
external is indispensable, including the green card.
For instance, I don't have a green card, and hence I don't need a green card
now. I am perfectly happy to work without a gre... 阅读全帖

There are two problems:
1. Too many candidates from one particular country. When diversity is not
kept people don’t integrate, communicate between their culture only, bring
all their relatives, hire only from their country, nothing good. No any
country should get more than 10% of H1B or GC.
2. The way India abuses H1B flooding and even selling applications (what is
against the US law).

what kind of life is happy? it is sure that the material life in US is much
better than that in China. But, what about the spirital life? Even if you had
millions of dollars now, would it guarantee that the life is happier? We are
living a Chinese life in USA. The worse is we have changed a lot since we
arrived in US. Now, we don't know what the perple in China are thinking, while
we don't know what the American are thinking either! So, who are we? What a
dilemma we are in now?
