5 diamonds and 4 hearts, 6-9 HCP hands. Perhaps a better treatment is
to play 2NT to show it. However, in that case, we have to double 1S
with balanced hand, no 4 hearts. Anyway, I don't think it's very bad to
double without 4 hearts. In Ross-Stone's orginal negative double version,
x doesn't guarantee 4 cards in the other major.
For this hand, 5D wasn't clear, change the lay out slightly, it can easily

with "strong" hands. However, if you don't bid 2H, you are just out of bid,
1NT is misleading, because you have 16 HCP, 1NT usually shows 12-14.
2D is awful, your diamond suit is poor, and you have 16 HCP, 2D usually
shows a weaker hand than that, around 12 to bad 15.
Another choice is 2S, which is an underbid, you may have a good game
if partner holds SAJxxx Hxx DKx Cxxxx, but he would pass your 2S

Yeah, I agree with you, Holding a hand with too high ODR, It's better to
choose
preemptive open.
How high is too high? My rule is to open Namyats, one has 8-9 tricks and
roughly 80%-90% of the tricks come from trumps. With one side Ace,
this hand is qualified.
My rule of open 2C is 9+ tricks with 2+ defensive tricks OUTSIDE the
dominant suit. The original hand is obviously a 2C open.
With only one side Ace, It is a Namyats open (if you play that convention).

may lead to bad games or slams in clubs.

she's very aggressive. a few hands ago, she raised J7s on button, I 3bet her
with J7o. flop came TT9, I bet she called, turn was an 8, i check raise her
all-in and we split the pot.
basically she knew i'm loose aggressive and she knew i knew she's loose
aggressive too.
So in this hand her button raise and my BB 3bet basically meant nothing
given our history. Now, if she really had a big hand, I think she would
raise big, make it look like a bluff. Her very small 4bet size |

river bet. his 3 barral shows a real polarized hand ranges in this limit either
bluff or huge hand. so you shove the river can make him fold a lot of hands. |

tight player. Howver, he may just fold his TT hands or one pair hands
facing a river bluff.
