Applied to both, science background.
May get some $$ from GWU, already got in GULC.
How much difference does GULC make to give up the $$ at GWU?
Any comments?

发帖数: 63 | 2 也请大家帮助分析一个选校的问题，地方局限在DC，所以只申了几个DC学校，现在有
GULC和GWU的admission，都是parttime。
现在在一小IP firm工作，对这个方向还是比较喜欢，当然也没接触过law的其它方向，
所以也不知道别的会不会更喜欢。
GULC总体排名好些，T14，听说clerkship的机会比较多，但GWU也不错，排名19，而且
IP很强。
综上所述，很难选择，请教大家意见。 |

clerks at IP firms in the part-time section at GULC. |

The only "con" about GULC is the location. It's too close to Southeast DC. I wouldn't take a walk around the perimeter of the campus at night. GWU's location is not that great, either, but Foggy Bottom definitely beats Judiciary Square/Union Station. |

的partner和其它同事都说上哪个学校都不重要了，主要是要把工作做好。
所里不少人GWU毕业的。

less important than the overall ranking. Besides, going to a T14 give you
more options in case you find out you are more interested in some other area
of law during law school.

shelter is near the campus, but you don't have to walk by it if you choose
not to. The school provides shuttle to metro stations and free parking in
the underground garage after 5pm which is great for PT students. |

machine. It guess it's a nice place to be if you never have to take a
stroll away from the campus. |

expected and Vandy's numbers higher. GULC's number is low, probably because
this number does not count # of clerks. At my school (which is a
comparable national school to GULC), we had about 10% of students in my
class taking COA clerkships. Vandy is well respected in the south, and
probably places well in the Atlanta and Texas markets, and to the lesser
extent, DC. UMinn is also a regional school and probably places well |

because she has a full-time job. It says night division of GULC is quite
competitive because unlike full-time 1L, most of its students works in
an area related to law (many work in the Hill). She is looking for someone
who might share class notes with. :-)
GULC is close to Union Station, right? Probably still a little better than
the Bronx. :-) |

small US IP firm and one at a China IP firm. Both won't lead you to
something big.
However, if one does not really have a better option, I don't think such a
posting is an insult to GULC students. GULC is a decent school, but it
mostly matters at 2L OCI. After that, nobody really cares.
Re your question, I do think it is a paid job if I don't have a real one.

发帖数: 46 | 18 小弟这个cycle申请情况相当讨厌，WL专业户，目前只有GULC一个AD，NYU，Columbia，
Upenn，NWU，Duke，Cornell都给了WL，也都还没据我。
现在担心等消息都有了再要I20约签证来不及，想问问有可能用GULC的I20去美国，如果
有其他的学校把我弄出WL，就在开学前转过去么？
这个事情是有点伤rp，但是如果NYU或者Columbia给了AD不去就太可惜了。不知道今年
的WL形式如何，想问问这么做的可能性大概怎样。

2. the tuition is more like $130k-$140k, but including living expense, $200k
sounds like a reasonable number
3. summers are paid over $3000 (in the $3000-$3500 range) a week at big law
nowadays, not $2000.
4. No one can guarantee you a job out of law school. That said, you don't
have to make yourself an average student and then take more risk on the job
market. YOU are the most important risk factor, and it's a factor YOU can
control.

发帖数: 8271 | 20 同学，其一，不是牛校的，就不表示彻底是外行啊。其二，随便灌水一句是针对DANIELSD，因为我说他偷换概念，他说不是跟我argue的，这是个信息论坛，不需要我也不想伤和气。我们学校11年毕业的两个女生都是当年就找到工作的，当然不是大所，但都找到自己想做的工作。其中一个女生还是在异地找到工作的。我们学校是regional school。
生活中很多common sense的东西，大家也并意识不到的，呵呵。现在在上Negotiation的课，就是这么个感觉。楼主的情形，我确实是会如我之前那么分析的。但个人的感觉而已。楼主肯定是risk aversion type的，要是我，根本不会来问建议。我是转行的，在选之前，做过很多research，但是选定之后，就没有后悔过。我之前也说了，楼主如果钱是concern的话，能拿到GULC的offer，就很可能拿得到George Washington的半奖，或者American University的全奖。这样的话，先期投资就是零了。
生物统计的硕士就是个tech degree，上升空间非常有限。长远来看，并不划算。但是如果喜欢，真的未尝不可。我以前就觉... 阅读全帖 |

5% clerkship and 40% BigLaw at GULC, way too low for T14--Northwestern has
close to 8% clerkship and 50-60% BigLaw
2) Too expensive

Senate race, has law degree from University of Maryland, while his opponent
Steele got his JD from GULC.
And not to mention there are lots of lawyers in the House and the Senate

Likely: Cornell/UCLA/USC/UT
Lock: the rest
Too many safe choices unless you'd like to increase your full/half ride
chance at one of those schools.
Keep Vandy/GW/Fordham then choose two from WUSTL/BC/BU/UIUC/ND. It depends
where you want to work after graduation, BC/BU for east coast, the others
are better for midwest.
How is your UG GPA ranked in your class/major? If in top 10%, suggest add
Boalt as well.

会计好
还有一种选择，考个LSAT，申请JD。如果你LLM成绩够好的话，还是有点优势的，有些
学校还可以waive一年的课程，两年就可毕业。（如Northwestern 等） |

is between Top14 school and non-top14 one.
Because you are in PT program, I assume you are not getting any money from
GW, the choice couldn't be any easier. |

information?
So far as I know, second-hand information, to a lot of schools' surprise,
the application pool shrink by about 5% comparing to last year. Maybe that's
why GULC extend their deadline to 3/1 this year, and that also explains the
gazillion of WL so far this year. Schools don't want over-enrollment or
under-enrollment. |
