<题外话>
1) 约翰*济慈生于1795年。幼丧父母,由祖母抚养长大。他的弟弟汤姆1818年死于肺结核。济慈在照顾汤姆的过程中不幸被感染,两年后去世。死时年仅25岁。
2) 我第一次知道济慈是在进大学不久的一次诗歌社团活动。主持活动的师兄刚介绍完济慈的生平,下面立刻响起一个女生的轻呼:(这么年轻就死去)太可惜了。而我的第一反应是:济慈的祖母会非常、非常伤心吧。。。不知为什么,这个镜头一直在我的记忆里清晰地存在,而大学时代其他很多更重要的事情却慢慢淡去。
3) 济慈最著名的作品当然是<<夜莺颂>>。他本人学医。所有诗作几乎都是在去世前两年创作。下面翻译的<<希腊古瓶>>,直译的话是<<对一个希腊瓶子的颂歌>>,是济慈数首颂歌之一。我本人也是不久前才偶尔读到、认真欣赏。这是对一个希腊古瓶的怀古之作。古瓶上应该画着树叶、人物、村庄等等。

电影本身不多说了,青菜萝卜各有所爱,拍的很认真,看出来也做了比较用心的研究来
再现黑洞,虫洞等,一些太空的场景拍的动人心魄。不过故事本身比较弱,人物基本上
都比较招人烦,我最厌烦的是电影歌颂父女之情,甚至可以穿越时空,可是拜托,男主
还有个儿子的吧,偏心偏到黑洞里去啦,那何必放这个酱油瓶在那里呢?当妈的表示不
能忍。
不过我要说的不是这个,是里面的诗。

的一首,貌似是他的代表作,的确,原诗极好,充满哲理,激情和力量,其实老教授读
的时候现在回想,似乎有点 "gentle" 了:)
下面是我的翻译,我参考了巫宁坤的版本,不过觉得韵压的比他好。原诗一半的魅
力在抑扬顿挫的声韵中。几个地方在翻译的时候做了取舍和变通为了照顾声韵,比如
good night的 good 就很可惜的放弃了, dark is right 的 right, 和 be gay。谁有
好的建议,希望告诉我。

我读Dylan Thomas很少,但很喜欢他。DT好像不像frost、pound那么知名,或者说诗歌
风格不像后者那样彻底改变美国诗坛,乃至modern poetry的局面,诗歌史上他似乎更
以转承著名 --- 或者说DT并不拘束于某种特点鲜明的风格和技巧,肖似稍早于他的法
国画家Manet,Manet为印象派诸君先声,又不拘于印象派。
言归正传,这首诗第一次读,不知道是否是他代表作,不过确实撑的起门面,读罢赞叹
不一!相比之下,贵翻译、包括楼里另一位先生的翻译,我觉得十不存一。。。
你楼下shot观点,DT"涌动咆哮",我也有同感。多啰嗦几句,DT这首小诗给我grand
canyon 的印象,非常美国 --- 沉静庄严又涌动似万顷波涛,动人心弦;也教我不得不
赞叹god bless america,呵呵。

迪伦•托马斯的“请不要悄然地走进那无底的暗夜”,是一个儿子对垂死的父亲
的恳求。他的目的是要表明,他的父亲要像所有的人面对同样的目的 -- 争取生存下去
。 “老者也应当在日暮时燃烧,咆哮”是这首诗主题。托马斯把人分成四种不同的类

"Grieved" means "to be sorrow for".
The original meaning of "repented" is still "to feel sorrow"
You know everyone will die someday, including your parents. Will you still feel sorrow that day?

man on the earth.
说的不是上帝后悔“他造了人”这件事,而是对人的反叛离道而悲伤。

Does this mean that God regretted creating humanity? Was He admitting he
made a mistake? No, God does not change His mind (1 samuel 15:29). Instead,

不改變的神
聖經所啟示的,是一位昔在、今在、永在、永不改變的神。這位神說:「我──耶
和華是不改變的」(瑪三6);「在祂並沒有改變,也沒有轉動的影兒」(雅一17)。
神的不變是指祂的屬性,如聖潔、慈愛、良善、公義、憐憫,以及祂的旨意等,都是不
改變的,「因為祂不能背乎自己」(提後二13)。從這方面來看,神是不會改變、不會
後悔的。「神的恩賜和選召是沒有後悔的。」(羅一一29)巴蘭的預言也為此作見證:
「神非人,必不致說謊,也非人子,必不致後悔。祂說話豈不照著行呢?祂發言豈不要
成就呢?」(民二三19)
神在何事上「後悔」?
不過,聖經的確有些地方提到神「後悔」了。最早的有關經文說到神「後悔」造人
。「耶和華見人在地上罪惡很大,終日所思想的盡都是惡,耶和華就後悔造人在地上,
心中憂傷。耶和華說:『我要將所造的人……都從地上除滅,因為我造他們後悔了。』
」(創六5-7)我們又讀到神「後悔」立了掃羅作以色列王。「耶和華的話臨到撒母耳
