Driver (and other car magazines) really likes it. The main complaints are
the automatic transmission (so you should consider manual), and the tight

david leadbetter school has a lot of kids. remembered i watched a show on golf
channel a while ago about that school. the instructor was saying something
like only 1 or 2% of the kids there may have a future in pro golf.

Centreville, VA (30 minutes west of Washington D.C.). The last time I was
golfing, they canceled everybody's game due to severe rain. I am selling this
rain check for $10. It is a good discount for any round of golf, with 18
holes normally costing $50. This is a very good course, but I don't plan to

Long before i start thinking about playing golf, the expense is the biggest
concern i had for this sports. I start later this July and practice in the
driving range for maybe a dozen times and one time on a 9 hole 3 par course.
It didn't looks pretty.
Since i am working with moderate income.( This is maybe the reason i think
the golf is just for the old and rich, i play tennis for some years)
I would like to hear people share their view on this |

上午去练习，一个哥们向我打招呼，问我那里membership的情况。聊了2句，他说他也
刚搬到austin， 我说我也是。
他就问我从哪来？我说los angeles。
他说他出生在los angeles, 他父母在santa barbara。
然后又问我喜不喜欢austin，我说很喜欢 in terms of the cheap golf,so far so
good。
他最后一句评价让我笑翻，他说他也喜欢，特别是这里的房子，就象中了lottery一样。 |

Has anybody here thought about this possiblity? I believe I will be back in
China at in a few years, how difficult it is to be a golf coach in China?
and what we can do when we are still in US can help achieve that?

money than I would make in my regular job. My thought, since I love golf, it
would be quite decent if I can retire with 2 MM $ at age of ~45 after
working hard in my career in the next 10-15 years, and just do some golf
instruction whenever I want to do to make some additional money.. it's not
gonna be more than what I can make in regular job, but it's probably a lot
more fun and relaxing.

golf户外媒体在中国有那么大市场吗？ 包括电视上？ 就观众而言还是少数吧，另外，
就是有多少全球/国转播的比赛了， european tours中国有4个算不少了，但观众可能
就少很多了。
总体来说，我不太看好，和cctv golf/tennis 频道合作很可能是想用cctv的垄断优势

今天讲讲在美国看golf比赛的经历。
我现场看过的赛事不多，主要就是Target World Callenge by Countrywide at
Westlake Village, 加州。翻译出来的就是Target (美国的一个连锁超市名，主营日用
百货，
比沃尔玛稍微高档些。）世界挑战赛，由countrywide，美国最大的房贷公司承办。 地
点在于加州洛杉矶北40迈的westlake village (是个小城市名）。
我当初也住在那地，近水楼台。
该赛事由泰格伍兹本人邀请世界排名前16位的球员，并有特别邀请几位，比如2006年的
John Daly, 2007年的Fred Couples。赛事的奖金额在$500完，第一名是近$150万，
最后一名也有$10来万。每年泰格伍兹将他的奖金都捐给他的基金,Tiger Woods
Foundation， 到目前为止，他本人就该赛事已捐赠达500多万美金。
看golf比赛，最推荐的是周3的练习赛，职业和业余配对，这还不是重点，重点是看他
们在练习场上的练习，另外这一天所要签名也容易的很多。

.. he got married. He used to go to driving range everyday, play at least
one round each week, put up a big mirror at home to analyze his swing, and
play even golf video games!!
Now he's the father of two and hadn't played for 3 years!
Recently he sent his kids to grandparents in China so he start going to
driving range with me. This guy is so rusty he couldn't hit the ball now.

see if you play 18hole/day, you have plenty time in the late afternoon and
evening, there are always some activities, and local attractions around
those golf resorts, you might want to play attention when you check in at
hotels.
i might also want to suggest you taking a look about Florida, especailly,
central florida. there are much more options.
Pure golf experience? this deal is pretty good for me, tho it's in Texas.

long as you don't over-do it.
50-60 lbs.. for one-hand? which part of your muscle do you mainly work on?
for golf, what I know is.. the leg muscle is key, and also the core muscle
group (around your body).
many pros do the weight training, like Camilo Villegas, Tiger Woods. the 2
guys almost do the weight training everyday. but they don't use big weight.
i remember, they use 25lbs dumbbell at most.

I took off every Friday in winter for it when I was into it. And I never
mind going to ski on my own. I was just such addicted. That gave way to golf
very naturally once I picked it up in 2005. My answer will always go to

- how much serious you want to be with golf
- how much time will you have to practice, to play
- are you a quitter, golf could get very frustrating at times
- at the end, why do you want to play golf
if I can learn it all over again, you'd learn from green to tee, I would
practice 7iron solely for at least a half year before touching any other
clubs.

we stay snorkeling most of time. but turn out the best snorkeling sites we f
ound are just off the golf courses. so i got chance to drive through two bea
utiful courses.
one is the course for PGA season opening.
Plantation Course at Kapalua Golf Club
the other was designed by robert trent jones
Wailea Golf Club: Gold and Emerald
to me, these two are must-play.

我个人觉得学GOLF心态要平淡, 不要一下花太多时间, 但是要一直淡定的保持 (
motivate yourself by play with friends and your family.... or teach your
kid to play.. to make it your activity over a long period of time.)
month over month, year over year... 淡定的体会和调整动作, one day you will
play better and enjoy more... and your body (flex and strength for golf) will be better after a long time golfing...

打完后就喜欢上这项体育运动。就象喜欢一个人一样，喜欢无须理由。
一周后，朋友送给我一套他淘汰的杠子。然后我就预约他介绍的 instructor, 第2天就
上了他的60分钟的 private instruction. 没多少感觉。然后认真拜读了ET在内的前辈
的文章¸想买点装备。去了 SPORTS AUTHORITY。买了 TALORMADE 09 BURNER
DRIVER，一个PUTTER和 WEDGE，一双真皮的 GOLF球鞋，一个推车，手套。然后在网上
买了 PING的包。在SPORTS AUTHORITY认识了 PGA PROFESSIONAL ，预约了今天的
PRIVATE INSTRUCTION。
我已经连续7天，每天都打GOLF，6天在 DRIVING RANGE，昨天在 9洞 COURSE。每天大
约2小时。UCONN女篮教练就说过：I only need them(他的队员) two hours a day. 我
也会这么要求自己。昨天打9洞前，我还骑了67 迈的公 |

GOLF RANGE：60 分钟， 120球
9-hole course: 90 分钟
学会了开 GOLF CART。把CART 开到自己的车边上，把GOLF BAG 放上去。
第一次一个人打。只要顺着PAVED的路开，就很容易从1洞打到9洞。
被告知可以在包括FAIRWAY 在内的草地上开，只要离GREEN和开球的BOX 30 FEET 远就
行。
第一次注意到COURSE 中央有白色，红色的小杠子。大约高2 FEET。还有第三种杠子，
不记得是绿色还是蓝色了。好像标注离洞100 FEET， 150 FEET 和 200 FEET。
我隐隐约约感觉到： 100 至 200 FEET 将是自己比较有把握的距离。最讨厌把球打到
FAIRWAY 之外的长长的草的地方。我不喜欢用DRIVER，一般就用3号铁杆开球。 100 FEET
以内的距离，我不知道用什么杆子来打。可能自己还需要买 WEDGE 杆子。目前9号铁杆
后，我只有一个 SAND WEDGE 和PUTTER。
今天共丢了5个球，3个球打到水里了。 |

发帖数: 1875 | 40 有一项体育运动是我想玩却不敢玩的，就是排球。打一场 TOURNAMENT 比赛，一周就不
能玩别的球了。看过orthopedic 医生，对右肩拍过MRI。结论是可以做手术。但韧带拉
伤很小，微创镜头不一定能找到。通过大量的自由泳，我可以右肩膀一周斗牛3次，一
次 90分钟/全场，而且没有如何疼痛。
不知道GOLF会不会是我的第2项不敢玩的。我感觉受伤是跟 SPINE及其附近的肌肉有关
。 左右手绕过肩膀摸自己后背，脊柱上有许多痛点。不知道大家有没有看过
Chiropractic 方面的医生。
我想我自己过度的训练和不正确的SWING，造成了受伤。另外自己挥杆的速度越来越快
。时间都花在golf上了，我是不是应该重新回到球场，游泳池。。。。。
其实我已经摸到golf的门道了。hip的rotate 提供主要的动能， shoulder 的rotate保
证club击中球和球飞行的轨迹。我想下一个我能摸到的，就是 arm的rotate了。 |

baseball来球快，重。所以要求bat短，粗。后手要求力量大。没有golf swing的
release。
但是core swing是很像。
想想golf应该容易，躺哪里不动的。:)
关键是baseball swing几乎不用学，非常natural。
真正的GOLF SWING. 我觉得这是一个很好的方法体会转体,当然还有其他方法能够体会
以脊椎为轴进行转动. 这个方法是看着很好学,如果你认为你这样挥两下,两分钟后你也
能象David Leadbetter的击球那样好,就期望过高了. |

家里附近有个private golf club，想带父母进去看看，所以问了一下费用。
initiation fee:90,000.00 （32岁and over），之前的便宜一点点，也要6万以上。

还有12个月的waiting list. 因为没有什么vacancy.
每个quarter还有1800的dues.
我想知道什么样的golf course是那种我想去就去的，也很便宜的，比如9洞10刀那样的
？另外，是不是只要是private golf club都一定要是member才能使用pool, tennis
court之类的？能不能非member单独付费使用？
又怎么区分：Public和Municiple的不同？
我只是想带父母和婴儿去里面散步（草地美啊），使用pool和tennis court，可以另外交钱.去哪种club比较合适？ |

因为刚买了Nike VR Pro Cavity，所以不想再找forgiving类型的了，于是挑了以下几
个试：
Mizuno:
- MP69，68，58，59。这里面69就是我的dream iron了。等我把VR Pro Cavity打断了
以后就买这个苦练三秋。68的击打声音要大的多，58/59的手感也不如69的轻盈。
Miura：
- Passing Point 9003和CB202还都不错，但是forged blade的几个的手感都不好，远
没有他们marketing吹的那么神。
Titleist:
- MB 712。不怎么样。
Ping:
- Anser iron。太一般了。
Callaway：
- Razr X forged。没什么感觉。
总体感觉就是虽然每个牌子都会吹牛，在golf show上挨个一试马上就见高下。以前听
到的一个说法说各家的iron都做的很好所以没什么区别是完全不准确的。
