Yep, completely agree. I was trying to communicate with layman why this
dimension thing is purely gibberish, they became so mad at me. I don't know
where this madness comes from, this sudden fervor of knowing the M-theory
for extra dimensions etc.
Talking about positron-electron annihilation, there is no dimension
reduction at all. These people are talking nonsense presumptiously.
Anyway, stay away from the crowd. They know nothing and they run over you.

No personal attack, please.
If you consider my saying you are not a physics major as an attack, I have
to say that is the hard truth you have to swallow.
Now, just show me a tiny grain of decency, tell me why there is dimension
reduction in positron-electron annihilation or polarized light?
It doesn't make any sense any more if we have this finger pointing

know what I was saying, just think that it's gibberish, ok?
I answered this question in my original poster.
So, you were really 自谦 in your original poster, which means that your
judgment that 汉朝独尊儒术以後中国的学术就剩下"我注六经六经注我"了 is not a
rash and irresponsible one, like LHZ's judgment on science. OK.
I won't argue with you on this 'cause I rather spend time reading
the works by the Chinese thinkers after 汉朝.

Last weekend I watched "Midnight Cowboy" and I was deeply impressed by the
remarkable performance of Dustin Hoffman, again. This is his second work, a
controversial milestone of American movie history (MC was rated "X" for some
graphic content).
Dustin is NOT handsome. He is short and his running, in particular, is very

Economics by all means is just an educated guess. Once we go extreme with
publications, strange things happen. Academia want to make sure your guess

that comment is equivalent to gibberish to me which I will ignore. However,
regarding your second comment, as a matter of fact, many string theorists
are currently applying ideas of string theory to condensed matter physics.
If you were aware of some of the recent developments in condensed matter
theory, you would have known that string theory has played an important role.
