lawn service公司来兜售生意，说我门前草长得不好，有fungi,要处理，不然明年春天
就要全部重搞，thousands dollars。
当然我才不入他的圈套， 但是现在这个草确实是越长越稀，不知道怎么搞。
请教一下，是不是去Homedepot 找除fungi的药喷一下？ 需要确定是哪一种fungi吗？
那人说杀了fungi之后要施肥（具体没听懂啥东西）， 然后瘌痢头会自动长好。 是不
是就撒一些lawn fertilizer？ 有没有针对瘌痢头的专门方子？

主要是要鉴定18s，可是不象细菌那么简单，取菌落加水煮沸后就可以做PCR的模板，所
以只好先提DNA了
不知班上有没有大侠提过fungi的DNA，有好的，简洁的方法没？

发帖数: 2062 | 23 刚才有人建议开专题讲采蘑菇。我来讲讲我在ＮＪ采蘑菇的经验。
最开始采蘑菇是跟个俄国女同事学的。NJ各个park和山头走了不少，最后觉得蘑菇最多
的地方是cheesequake state park，从edison沿GSP十几分钟就到。到了秋天，特别下
雨后，此公园到处都是蘑菇。九月份是最好的时候，十月后天气转冷就没有蘑菇了，八
月也应该有，但是因为labor day以前进去要交钱，我没有在七八月去过。
初学采蘑菇可参照下面的网页。

切记学会认清能吃死人的Amanitas的几个典型特征，其他的一般就算有毒也吃不死人。
可采蘑菇中最容易辩认也不会搞混的是Boletes和CORAL FUNGI（见所给连接图片和介绍
），我最开始只采这两种。
Boletes帽顶是棕色，帽底一般是黄色海绵状，有的会偏绿。不要摘帽底是橙色或红色
的。这种蘑菇最容易辨认，味道也极佳。初学才蘑菇者最好先从bolets开始。不过
bolets因为跟枯叶颜色相似，不容易一眼看出来。

言归正传，首先请教山农，寒山等果神，关于有这么几棵树
1． 这是一棵什么树啊？
它夹在我家的草坪和邻居家的水泥地之间，还那么小，感觉有点委屈它了。要怎么照料
啊？
2. 我们后院的斜坡上有一棵dwarf 的桔棵（橙，桔，橘不知）的树，大概1米多一点，
可是树型不好，好像又被insects吃，又有fungi 的问题。如图所示，叶片被谁吃掉一
大块，有些叶片背后有白色的蜘蛛网状的残留。到底是什么insects? 要怎么消灭它们
呢？抑或，它是一种fungi的问题，要用什么可以处理一下呢？
除了要重建好斜坡蓄水池，适度施肥之外，何时可以修剪一下它的树型？总觉得它好像
站不稳，快要倒掉一样。原先的斜坡上爬满了现在正在开紫色小花的藤，非常猖獗，今
年我砍去了一些，可是那藤的根非常之粗和深且广，不知道有没有影响到树的生长。

说说背景，植物类纯 bench 土鳖博士，没什么文章，混了几个3作之类的，一作只有一
篇还是很小的。没什么技能。只会干PCR 之类的体力活，什么生物信息学数据分析，复
杂牛逼的什么COIP，EMSA 之类的也都没做过。
可能接到的offer 有包括： 1， 植物类刚拿到的AP 实验室，一切刚刚开始， 2， 生
物化学类交叉AP实验室，AP 实验室刚建第二年， 3， FUNGI 类实验室，老板还挺有钱
。 其中1,2 是老中老板， 3 是老美。
目标的话是尽快能发文章，文章大小无所谓。2年之内要回国了。重要是一作，现在博
后都一年了手里还没什么文章，不好找工作啊。

我到是有个蛋白，一直想看看它分子进化。真核生物分成5-8个超家族（不同研究者有
不同分类理念，有人认为划分8个，有人认为划成5个，也有人认为划为6个），这个蛋
白只在其中3个中有，其它类中则没有。而且in Oplsthokonts supergroup, which
includes fungi and animals, it is absent within fungi branch; and in
Chromalveolates supergroups, some branches also excluded this proteins.
你有什么见解？觉得怎样分析它的进化？

What makes a sea sponge an animal and not a plant?
According to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sponge, sponges are animals which have: "No true tissues, they lack muscles, nerves, and internal organs."
They don't have a brain etc. so what makes them an animal and not a plant?

Lacking a brain is not unique to sponges, it is shared by cnidarians such as
jellyfish, echinoderms such as starfish, and weirder creatures like
bryozoans and brachiopods.

（相信这里有不少朋友读本文时会感到格外亲切。即使不是与中关村有过比较紧密联系

中关村回顾

中关村是我青少年时代成长的地方，1953年我随父母从杭州迁往北京后，不久就住进中
关村，直到1984年远赴加拿大，近三十年几乎就沒离开过这塊土地。
2006年5月，与1953年相距整整五十三年，我又回到了这里，回到了15楼前。多巧的是
二个“53”的数字呀，它们之间会有什么联系吗？触景生情，一幕幕往事呈现在眼前。
父母亲人，叔伯邻里一个个音容笑貌浮现在脑海里，仿佛我又回到了青少年时代。往事
如烟，真是弹指一挥间。
回到北美后，总是不能忘怀以往的一切。我决定写点中关村的事和人，抒发自己思乡的
情感，也愿与所有海外的中关村游子和关心中关村的人们共享。
