【明報專訊】在台灣只要談到大陸,就有種莫名其妙的優越感,獨派以這種優越感做為
台獨的感性基礎,國民黨不敢搞台獨,但也以這種優越感做為獨台或拒統的基礎。這種
優越感裏,台灣相對比較富裕一直是核心元素。
也正因此,台灣最喜歡的就是大陸的負面新聞,因為這些新聞證明了台灣的優越;台灣
最討厭的就是兩岸互動中顯示大陸也有不錯一面的新聞,例如 ECFA(兩岸經濟合作架
構協議)大陸說什麼「因為是兄弟,所以才讓利」,台灣就假裝沒聽到,而只是宣傳說
是自己的談判技術厲害云云。如果大陸讓得太多, 台灣官方就會宣稱這是對台灣在搞
統戰。台灣這種得了便宜還賣乖的風格,其實都是優越感在作祟。「八八水災」時大陸
表示要到台灣來幫忙救災,這怎麼可以,別 國可以,大陸絕不可以,這是統戰,但真

1. 公司文化就是cheap (frugal),retail利润本来就低。跟engineering没关系。CEO
坐飞机也只有经济舱,当然Jeff有private jet,是自掏腰包的。
2. SDE1 -> 2很容易。1-2年。升不上去的同学需要反思一下自己的工作态度并提高工
作能力
3. 股票是留不住人的。公司两极分化很严重,一半左右SDE进公司不到两年,一部分人
在公司一呆很多年
4. SDE2办绿卡基本没阻力。确实需要VP签字,不过我还没听过不给谁签字的. 从开始
办到拿卡1年,当然是排期到的情况下。

本来想写个亚麻恶俗的,后觉得亚麻人都低调,就写个屌丝十则吧。
亚麻华人屌丝十则
1:刚进公司就被灌输frugality文化,用低端电脑加门板桌。
2:进公司不久就查看同事profile,参加100%peculiar考试,获取人生第一块工业界奖
章,确切的说,是内部profile上多了个图标。
3:每天背着廉价电脑冒雨狂奔赶公车,心里高唱扒火车那个搞机枪。上车后一把抹去
满脸雨水默念甜酱酱大人鱼...
4: 一进公司看到闹哄哄的同事都像打了鸡血似的,也莫名兴奋起来,忘我投入工作,
只有在偶尔经过充满异性的部门时,荷尔蒙的气息才会抚慰逝去的青春。
5:视背肘子为二代教主,幻想这小子带领大家伙共同富裕,哪里想到这丫宁可花几亿
买个没人看的报纸,不愿提高员工待遇。
6:中午组团坐班车到唐人街搵食,杯筹交错之间,细品人生百味。

在Amazon的时候:离家远,上班累,oncall,大概每个月oncall一周,这一周周末不能
出去玩,逛着逛着超市,突然就狂奔向车,开始工作。西雅图Amazon能报销上班的公
车费,还 有一些停车费,(如果你每天都开车上班,能报销的停车费不能cover cost,
因为还有 520过桥费,Amazon附近停车费很高,离得远点稍好),Amazon啥吃的都没有
,每天该 同学都是饥肠辘辘,到家跟饿死鬼似的,经常提到Amazon的企业文化:
frugal,就是节 省的意思。公司发的电脑很挫,显示器很挫,办公室办公桌很挫。
到了湾区google:离家近,上班没那么累,不用oncall,有吃的有喝的,导致该同学食
欲不 振,到家一副饱了的样子,google能停车,该同学天天开车,电脑是apple最新款
,显 示器随便用,还从公司抱回家一台自己用,能报销上网费用,好像是$80以下的网
费都 能报,薪水比以前高,企业文化是奢华,不再节俭了,还能经常带朋友和家人去
google 吃饭,,该同学只在家吃晚饭,早上起来之后锻炼身体,跑好步了再上班,去

,但像亚麻这样低小下的,即有成熟的企业文化,又对员工非常mean的,还真不多见,
亚麻至少可以排前二。
公司内部给人的感觉很凌乱,让员工体会到在这里工作的压抑。有些公司不仅福利好,
雇你不仅仅是干活的,还提供各种培训。而亚麻则是第一天工作就火急火燎的把你当苦
力使,把付出的一点点薪水加倍赚回来,俺从未待过就是这种鸟文化的地方,天朝都没
有。亚麻没有培训的情况就让你直接接任务,第一周就让你deploy到production,page
了让你roll back和fix。
虽然不是几十万人的大公司,内部管理的效率却非常低。笔记本很烂,三年一换已经让
人不可忍受,等三年的时候兴高采烈的去换,丫policy变四年了。里面cube天天变,越
变越小,据说要发展成蜂窝形势以最小空间容纳最多的人。可惜我没体会到这个蜂窝就
离开了,非常遗憾。
员工的福利不是一般的差,从没见过哪个公司对员工有那么mean,每天的坏心情要从进
入办公室开始,俺觉得亚麻做到了。咖啡是最差的,曾经一度从starbuck的袋装换成没

进lab126那会人很少,一共才200人,大家都认识,搞定了IT的人,所以设备就随便要
,当然LAB126挺能花钱的,一点也不frugal. |

吃惊,平均花费是房价的20%还多。这些钱不包括房子本身的装修,只是室内装饰,inter
ior decoration,包括家具,窗帘,地毯(area rugs),灯具,墙上装饰(paintings &
art)等。也就是说,50万的房子,要至少花10万才能把它填满,100万的房子就要20多万
。这几个人都是在美国人里属于那种接近frugal类型的,据他们讲还有许多花得比他们多
的多。
经常看国人聊名牌汽车,名牌时装,却很少听人讲名牌家具,其实家具的好坏也是有天壤
之别的。如果你翻一翻像Architectural Digest这样的杂志,就会发现美国的文化对家具
和室内装饰有多么讲究。什么价位的房子就应该配什么价位的家具,窗帘,地毯。就像我
们常说的,好马一定要配好鞍。经常听他们津津乐道baker, hickory chair 等牌子的家
具,或是某某店的波斯地毯, 和某某店的Silk Curtain。其实他们的收入并不比这版上的
DX 们多,但感觉人家是真的在享受自己的房子和生活。 这也是一种生活的品位吧。 |
