Background: 去年因为各种原因，麦地有点萧条，作为申请人不见好贴心里不免焦虑。
就在此环境中，几位既往study partner组了个pathology iv group。宗旨：此群不练
习iv，只用于定期交流各pg面试情况。
Material and Method: skype group, 不定期组会。
Result: 小组共15名成员，8名match path，4名match IM。
Conclusion: 虽然当年麦地求助无门，却发现4～7年前各位前辈热心的面经分享，受益
无穷，给面试增添不少信心。遂鼓动小组全体成员，独乐乐不如众乐乐，为2015申请
path童鞋鼓鼓气。

smart, which I do not see why CS major is smarter.

and famous 的朋友呗。爱刷题而且以后还 rich and famous 的，估计比较少。所以大
本事不是会刷题，而是有本事让别人为你刷题。依此类推。
举个例子，Paul Allen就是Bill Gates在私立高中认识的朋友，一起玩电脑的，后来
Bill Gates成立微软，就把他给叫上了，现在他是$18B的身家，继续讲下去，Bill
Gates成立微软后，缺个搞business的，就说服了他哈佛宿舍同一层的哥们儿Steve
Ballmer从Stanford辍学加入，Steve Ballmer后来成为微软CEO，目前身家$22B
当然了，Bill Gates肯定也有很多其他同学没有被他看上，对于他们来说，这就是茶余
饭后的话题。但是起码他拉了一些，就因为他们是一起读书的朋友。比例虽然是小，但
是也比没有比例要高一些，是不是？你跟Bill Gates一起混没有被他看上，打工不被领
到看上，泡妞不被美女看上，elite社会，比拼的就是人际关系。

其实学理科的一个普遍误区在于：对一个问题的看法非黑即白，一定要找到最优答案。
现实生活中，答案是多样的，社会是多元化的，最优答案也可能是有不确定性的。
所以，数学并非是让一个人在，中国或美国社会上“解题”的最佳利器。

你说反了。。。在美帝，对于大部分 STEM track，数学在大学录取时没啥用。。。因
为 SAT 数学，只要够细心，数学傻子都能考高分。。。过来大学录取的坎后，数学反
而更有用。。。当然我估计你不是 STEM track 的，不理解数学的用处也是自然。。。

我觉得应从这几点准备材料回应这个NIOD，说服IO你是internationally small top

percentage journal 上 （IO喜欢看%)；IO不是质疑你的contribution 不
internationally significant 吗？ 你就展示国际上是怎么引用你的文章的，你的文
章是如何如何重要的，他们引用的原话就是最原始，有效的证据。

they go to a fake "ivy-league" school like Columbia to study some film
classes, or get some shitty degrees.
Take emma watson for example, she was already famous from harry potter
before she applied to that school in new hampshire or vermont.

去了三天，忍痛放弃了Djerdap国家公园（铁门），一是住宿难找，二是想拍照的那个
点需要permit，赶不上公园office开门，三是来回开车起码五六个小时吃不消，算了留
待下次。
第一天在贝尔格莱德Slavija广场以北随便晃了下，几个大众景点，教堂阿广场啊多瑙
河边的碉堡啊，晃着晃着就深夜了。
第二天上午去Slavija以南的St Sava教堂以及铁托墓。下午去中国大使馆遗址。然后取
车，首先去贝尔格莱德南的Avala山参观无名英雄纪念碑同电视塔，然后去Oplenac等日
落。
第三天一早在Oplenac参观了教堂，回到贝尔格莱德，还车后去Novi Sad半日游。晚上
本来还说要在贝尔格莱德体验夜生活，但实在太累了，踩着拖鞋在旅馆周围晃了一圈完
事。周一一大早的飞机回去上班。
