张益唐利用k_0=3500000元容许集最小直径H可小于7*10^7, 得到他关于相邻素数差的
著名
结果. 他的论文在5月21日被Ann. Math.录用后正式公开.
在陶哲轩带领下,众人经过一个月的奋战, 已把可取的 k_0 降到1470, 相应上界H已降为
12042 (由Engelsma给出).
由于对所有更小的k_0值, Engelsma与Sutherland都列出了相应的最小直径H(相当于张
的上
界改进). 因此, 余下的仅是设法稍微降低点k_0值. 考虑到各种招数已基本用尽, 可以
说张
益唐的上界改进工作基本结束了.
