在我们这里大家常觉得Carmel Valley这个精英荟萃的地方的Torrey Pine High School（US Newsweek Ranking #125)是最好的学校。TPHS去年有6个哈佛录取的，十几个斯坦福录取的。然而在US Newsweek的排名上，她远远掉在了另一个名不见经传的小学校后。谁说美国人不知道怎么样用social economic background来衡量学生了。
这所小学校叫Preuss School UCSD （US Newsweek Ranking #17).我朋友帮哈佛校友面试时，这个学校的申请生录取率最高。他连续两年面试了两个从这个学校出来后来被哈佛录取的越南孩子。他告诉我那几个孩子的故事真的很感人。他们这得是overcome a lot of hardship to arrive where they are.例如有个孩子为了能上这个学校，每天5点就起来去朋友家里等车。这样求学上进的孩子是我们愿意帮助的。

高一点，共同语言多一点，未来双方自身经济实力都强一点，是差不离的大方向。
好lg对女孩子来说挺重要，和好lp对男孩子来说重要是一样的。都是要陪着过一辈子的人，比和爸妈相处的时间还要长。懂得识人和经营感情，也是要慢慢教给女儿的人生课。

我多句嘴，如果自己通过别的方式没有办法有大的改进，找个心理医师聊聊吧
很多事情/经历/多年积压的情感不满委屈，都说出来的话，对内心的慢慢平静会很有帮
助呢
小的时候，能力能量见识有限，孩子们大多就是逆来顺受的份
现在成年了，应该能够学习empower self，有能力push back and stand up for self

发帖数: 383 | 35 支持LZ具有探索精神的讨论态度。感谢你的开题。我对 homeschool 虽然还不是很了解
，但是很好奇。身边同事也有 homeschool 过自己孩子的，一直到7年级。现在一个在
上大学，另一个在好学区的公立高中，适应的挺好。据说幸好入学的时候有很多朋友已
经在 Girl Scout 里认识了，不然适应期会很难过。
学校里课堂教学有很多弊端，能真正适应并 thrive 的孩子有限。其实homeschool 的
弊端也有，但是我总认为智慧妈妈可以积极主动的来避免或减少。学校里的问题，再智
慧的妈妈有时也束手无策。
作为第二代移民，homeschool 小朋友肯定有很多挑战。我喜欢LZ的态度，既然符合自
己的理念，既然 make sense，就不会因为有挑战而后退，不会因为别人的异议
而动摇。挑战不一定有风险。勤奋的妈妈和孩子一起成长，让孩子看到自己和妈妈的进
步，对他们是一件非常 empowering 的事情。
Homeschool 的父母 network 能力很强，认识一个就认识一大堆了。Social Studies
