发现有人进了cheap employer，结果被盘剥，绿卡快到手被terminated，h1b快生效被
terminated，h1b快申请被terminated，opt快完了被terminated。总之，一副冷血资本
家脸的employer。还有，就是对holiday斤斤计较，对sick leave都不能给你用到长假
回国探亲之类的极品雇主。401k一分钱不match的雇主之类的。
希望大家进来贡献。因为并不一定大家都能进大公司，大雇主。豪气如谷歌的，那毕竟
是少数吧。

候employer应该是导师的名字还是所在学校啊？因为之前做RA/TA的时候，employer是
学校，但是如果现在还是学校的话是不是除了导师也要和学校的HR打招呼啊？我已经混

我的present employer是phd老板。他放我毕业了，答辩定在五月底。但是由于以前种
种事情，我已经对他失去了80%的信任。
我会请committee和本实验室的scientist来当我的reference，他们都是德高望重的老
头，几年来对我印象一直都很好。所以老板不会是我的reference。在这样的情况下，
我很犹豫是否可以拒绝公司联系现老板？

1. background check 和reference check 都还没做。新公司是私有公司，也算挺大的
，万把人。是不是不搞这些check？还是基本不在乎？我的主要顾虑一是找不到那么多
的reference，因为我就在现在这个公司工作过，但不想让人知道。二是我在投递简历
时把contracting的时间也算成现在公司了，虽然我就坐在同一个cubicle，用一个电脑
，做同样的事，但是中间我从consulting转成现在这个公司的employee了。

请问大家，这是大家offer letter里都常用的一个措辞吗？这一条款对于咱们employee
来说是不是很不利？对雇主却很有利？雇主是不是可以随便fire我呢？即使没有任何
reasonable的理由？

那么就挑一项能引出后面的内容的缺点。比如说，之前的employer不做code review，
我觉得这样不行于是自己主动带动team做code review。之前的employer是top down传
递命令的开发模式，自己的应对就是主动给feedback并且involve early stage。云云

employment history，学校的人说这是因为uscis怀疑我在上个opt中间有unemployment
，可我整个opt全在一家公司工作，没有任何unemployment。唯一的可疑之处就是，我
在上个opt结束的时候换了工作，因为之前的公司不是e-verified。
本来我觉得这件事情没什么，只要提供employment history就行，可学校的人说的特别
严肃，说这种情况处理不好就会被拒，跪求各位高人指点。。。请问我需要自己找律师

是多少。公司外国人少，HR不给写。 说他们不能sign 任何这类的信。 但他们告诉我
公司内部网页上有self-service 自己可以打印这个letter。 这份自动生成的打印页
的确显示了你从那天雇佣的， 你的职务是什么， 你的工资是多少。 但是这信的title
是immigration and empolyment verification。 说是可以给US Department of
Homeland Security and foreign agencies and embassy etc.
我不敢用这份empolyment verification。 因为这上面有immigration 字眼。 怕签证
官看到后有不好的联想。 加上我已有绿卡了。
现在能证明我current employment 只有每半个月的工资单了。 请问这个足够证明我的
employment 吗？

sep麻烦些，但因为solo的有employer和employee，根据你的收入，可能会比上sep更合
适。
总之，sep和solo 401k上限都一样，都是5万多，今年。但具体到个人情况，选择哪个
，要看了。solo比sep手续上简单些，等等。 |
