1.租房和校内住宿的比较(费用,优劣,时间,安全)
找房子的同学，请一定要留意房子的地点，安全第一！！
各位同学，请大家在找房子的时候，多多向老同学们打听房子的地理位置信息，一定要
住到老生们聚集的地方，比 较安全。
建议的几处可以考虑的地方。
1. Brooklyn 大本营， Q train 西南部分的，B， Q, F, N, R, D train 附件，
church Ave以南， Kingshigh way上下几个地铁站附近，这是华人聚集的地方，犹太人
和其他白人较多，比较安全。（个人没有任何民族观点 ）
2. Queens Ermhurst 附近，台湾和华人同学都很多，比较安全的好地方。
3. 第三选择， queens flushing, 华人的天堂，很安全。
建议不要住的地方。
1. East Brooklyn。 J， G train沿线以及移动的部分，A，C train向东边延伸的部分
，那里比较危险，华人较少。
2. Bronx，不用说了。
3. Central park 以北。

city说如果能把eletrical safty 和 Energy saving 这两个过了，就能refer以前的
case number， 把permit发下来。
eletrical safety 这个city就是说要把bathroom装感应开关，
Energy saving就是要做一个HERS (Home Energy Rating System)testing
看起来并没有想象那么麻烦。
但是不知道city说话会不会是瞎说的。。。 |

The advantages I can think are:
1. Safe. No spark like eletrical motor,no combusion like gas engine.
2. Clean. No chemical like in battery, no oil and exhaust.
3. Flexible. Can release high power in short time, therefor small and low
cost. i.e. you can charge a tank with a 10Amp motor, that tank can power a
big hammer that may require 100Amp to operate if eletrically powered.

when you slow down the car, kinetic energy is converted
to eletricity by the electric motor/generator.
the insight shuts off the engine during stops,
so you can't charge the battery just let the engine
idle.
and you probably can't use all the power, when
the battery power is low, the car doesn't use
it any more. I'm not sure about this though. |

on paper, looks good though. mid-engine combined with a
sport hybrid drive system sh-awd that uses a pair of electric
motors at the front combined with a Bilateral Torque
Adjustable Control System
dual-clutch gearbox will hopefully shut up german ass-lickers.
too bad they still will only use a 3.5 V6, that tops at 350-400hp
even add the eletric motor, it will be hard to exceed 500hp

也许好多人都不知道这款GM的“电动车”。今天偶尔看到的。
加引号是因为它根本不是纯电动车。算plugin型。
两门的coupe, 充电后可以跑40mile. 有个9gallon的油箱，供一个发电机，然后通过
eletric motor驱动车辆。9gallon 可以跑到270miles.
这就算豪华版的volt了。
价格多少？75k.
乖乖，这种伪电车，居然卖得比 tesla还贵，还烧9gal汽油，这帮做市场的不知怎么分
析的。

since it covers heat and it is loft so high ceiling apt wouldnt be too hot
comparing with low ceiling apt.
The second one using eletricity for heat, which might cost quite a lot
because electric heater is not as efficient as gas heaters generally. Like
you said that is why the current tenants get out when it is time to pay for
heat.
High-rise building apt is good but the ventilation in the kitchen is almost

一个是 black & decker 19" electric mower, MM875, ~$200 (sears). 好处是电动的
，维护容易。但是要拖着很长的电线（草坪接近3000sqrt）。而且有人抱怨B&D的质量
不是太好。
另一个是 toro 20334, gas with eletric start, ~$360 (HD)。牌子不错，有点启动
。缺点是太贵了点（快是b&d的2倍了）。不知是不是应该考虑 20331, ~$300（因为上
个是craftsman (honda engine),但是用了一会发动热了后极难重新启动，所以想买个
点启动或者电动的）。

了，有的问题都是小问题，你恐怕拿不到很多credit... 但我的realtor还是很认真的
帮我们找了两个contractor(因为有些问题是pluming的，有些涉及eletric的），帮我
们一项一项估了价。
我们当时还觉得最多能拿个1000-2000。但realtor把这些报告七七八八（什么换灯泡啊
，车道旁边有个坑啊，厕所门的锁不太好用啊，壁炉顶上有块砖松了等等）都列在一起
，要个8000块。结果报告传过去，一点劲没费，卖家最后给了4000块，还负责做了
termite and pest control加一年warranty（900多）。我觉得你有道理，这个问题你
不争取，肯定不会有谁好心给你。你争取了，对方一定还价，还高还低那是另外一回事
儿了，不仅仅取决于实际维修费用，还有对方多着急卖等因素。 |

If it is tank type (most common one), how big? gas or eletric? age? temp
setting?
You may need to set your temp to the highest if your cold water was really
cold (depend on where you live).
If that still does not solve your problem, you might need to switch to
bigger tank if space allows, if not, you will need one with higher recovery

可以同时发射2.4GHz和5GHz的信号.
实测结果:
magnetic field: 靠近的话两边+底面三个防线超过最大读数100 milligauss
离开20厘米左右,大概可以降到3-5 mG的安全范围.
eletric field: 表面超过 1KV/m的强度
radio: 表面能达到0.1 mW/cm2
当然安全范围没有一个统一的标准,一般磁场3mG,电场 1kV/m,微波0.1mW/cm2
是较安全的.除非你抱着router睡觉,一般问题不大.
当然不同router可能测试结果会非常大.我的cable modem是motorola 6120
(支持docsis 3.0 channel combining)测试结果非常低.
可能有点民科了,呵呵. |
