over $100 a night. if u wanna to save money, you can search around, there
are cities around sleeping bear dunes that have much lower hotel rate. The
other option is to camp. The campsite costs like 20 bucks per night,
something like that, i don't remember the exact price now, just call
sleeping bear dunes and ask. When i went there last yr, i camped in sleeping

一次，毕竟那是传说中michigan最好的skiing resort. 虽然我小戴热心，但隔三差五
的总组织活动，我也有点吃不消。所以，所以这次去北边滑雪我就私下找了我认识的1
男2女，然后算上我，4个人开1辆车过去。可是让我没想到的是在21世纪北美的密西根
找个靠谱的男人居然这么不容易！最后找的3个男人都给我放了鸽子！@#$%

发帖数: 46 | 4 刚刚看了第一集，爽。原来看过DUNE的电视mini series（SCI FI 2000年出的），不太喜
欢，CHILDREN OF DUNE感觉层次丰富些，视觉效果也好些（敢说比小说容易看，
我看过DUNE的小说，看得很辛苦），而且也适合于平时不看科幻的观众，强烈推荐！
3月23号SCI FI会从早上11点开始把DUNE 和 CHILDREN OF DUNE 一气演完，等着享受马
拉松吧！ |

我也看过DUNE小说，现在正在看续集Dune Messiah。小说大部分是心理描写和政治斗争，
这些电视还真不容易表现出来。虽然是科幻，但是DUNE的科幻意味并不浓，更像历史史诗
，充满了宫廷斗争，宗教狂热，各种势力的较量，权力，统治，和反抗。电视版非常适合
没有耐心看书的人，节奏掌握的很好，虽然长但始终吸引人。那个电影版就有些沉闷之嫌
。 |

从SD开过去，4-5个小时。15号转40号。40号上有一段限速60mile。警察端着激光测速
。40号上的Ludlow是最后一个加油站，所以最好加满油再进入无人地带。
Hole in the Wall露营一晚。如果没有风的话，很不错的camping ground。有基本的设
施。那天晚上风太大，基本没睡着。
第二天早去爬Kelso Dunes，距离Hole in the Wall 40mile左右。听说Kelso Dunes 是
美国境内最高的沙丘，我没查过是否属实。同行的人记录了一下。从下面的停车场到沙
丘最高处，大概400多英尺。看上去不难，爬起来很辛苦，非常地辛苦。
几张到此一游的照片。试了试拍星星。几次都被来往的车灯毁了，最后放弃睡觉。

跳到蔚蓝的密西根湖水里，。。。然后再从下面爬上来，等到你爬到parking lot的时

还有在这个DUNES区域哪里能开自己的车上沙滩啊？

还是第一天晚上夜游Great Sand Dunes，第二天白天再开去Black Canyon？Black
Canyon是开车穿过去就好，还是值得下来走走?请去过的朋友给点建议。谢谢大家 |

主要玩乐三个地方
1) Pierce Stocking Scenic Dr
在9(lake michigan view)
的地方，好多人从陡峭的沙坡下去，但是上来可要费几倍的力气。
还好天气不热。不错的锻炼
2) Empire bluffs trail, 看日落。比较短的trail .老少咸宜 (1.5 round trip)
3) Sleeping bear point trail. 这个比较难。号称all sand, no shade, hilly
其实主要是前一半比较难，最后就走到林子里了。最高地方。全景看到dunes/lake
不错。全长2.8麦。幼儿老人不宜。
边上有个小船博物馆，和复古铁匠铺，适合学龄小孩。
还有beach可以挖沙子。
公园还是不错。感觉慢慢玩个2-3天都可以的
visitor center (Empire MI)边上有加油站和小商店。
没时间去dune climb的地方。应该容易一些。
还有个drivein theater.也没时间去。

点起，去爬。我们上次就是，下午到的，就到处转转。第二天一大早开车进去，路上看
到好多好多鹿，然后早上爬sand dune也不热，舒服多了。
black canyon有些观景点，都是需要走个短短的trail，不过也是需要几个小时的吧。 |

traverse city就是一个笔吃，没啥好看的。sleeping bear dunes需要走trail, 不然
没意思。不过sleeping bear dunes的东北部有个叫做leland的小town, 从那里可以坐
船去一个叫做manitou的小岛。那个岛上如果hike到山顶，7mi round trip, 山顶的风
景还是不错的。lz要是感兴趣的话可以google 戴硕北密游记，我以前发过这2个地方的
游记。

best time to go Gunnison and the San Juan mountains is fall for the autumn
color.
but it seems like you really want to kill two parks in one shot.
I'd recommend spend more time in Great sand Dune because at end of May,
Medano Creek flow high, and it's very strange scene that a pond lay next to
the sand dune. You should bring your swimming suite because many others do.

没走那个dunes trail. 觉得那个2.8 miles loop也很不错。
其实这个温度很好，我觉得夏天去估计要晒晕了。没有阴凉在沙漠走trail..
当然。不能游泳。。

当然你也可以爬爬附近的山。我很喜欢Sangre de cristo range. 但是这个range的山
都不容易，不大众。
