对于一个N比特的CRC校验码，它可以检测出所有字长
小于N比特的burst error。对于字长大于等于N比特的
错误，只有当错误字的polynomial可以被CRC生成码的
polynomial可以整除的时候，CRC校验failure才会发生。
所以CRC校验失败率是
\eta = (prob. of divisible error pattern)/(prob. of all error pattern)
当然，这两个probability都跟BER有关。
举个简单例子，如果G(x)=x+1 （两位CRC generator，
一位冗余码，等同于parity校验），3位信息比特。
总字长4比特。BER=p。
出现1比特错误的概率是C(4,1)*p,
prob. of 2-bit error = C(4,2)*p^2,
prob. of 3-bit error = C(4,3)*p^3,
prob. of 4-bit error = C(4,4)*p^4,

1. 上周要了abstract， 但是系统状态还没变。请问一般多久状态会变，手续可以正式
办下来。现在还是不放心。
2. 提交proposal的时候budget了一个学生，但是刚好招了一个博后做这个项目。这种
情况一般怎么还有什么时候该跟NSF grant officer说要改budget？
3. 提交proposal的时候为了显示在modeling方面的expertise，budget了每年几千块一
个在新加坡的合作者为consultant。实际上因为他工作单位规定的原因，这个
consultant实际上不能拿钱。我想能不能用这个钱给自己summer pay （proposal 只
budget了半个月）？需要联系NSF grant officer改budget吗，还是不用改？
4. 之前看版上说一般如果拿到一个Division 比如CBET的grant，在grant结束之前一般

Division的人接电话，所以感觉只是在系统中查询一下状态，只能告诉你状态是没收到
，让你和自己的大使馆联系，确认已经发了，或者重发。询问更详细的情况说他们也不
清楚。要求提供Waiver Review Division的联系方式，只给了个传真号。

发"列表中，但等到9月中旬还没有收到。我查了一下，同批的基本都在7月31号“收到
”。于是给DOS打了一个电话，又陆续发了两个电子邮件，两封信，两个传真。除了电
子邮件有回复外，其它无回复。准备给中国大使馆发信请求重发，信都写好了。后来看

annual report, im division自己没有report. 总公司自己的报表就是这么叫的，我也
不知道为什么。im division 大部分的managing fee还是从他们的insurance总公司来
，但也有external clients. 所以我也不明白。然后想知道一下一般insurance公司和
他的im division到底有怎样的关联。

整句话是这么说的（而且是写在im division 的那个section下面的）

首先请你弄清楚，我现在是租房子，不是卖房子。另外我上面说的所有资料都没有误导
任何人。这些资料都很透明，在网上大家都可以自己找到。我在别的地方贴同样的广告
，从来没有人质疑过内容的真实性。我认为这里的人反应比较大，很主要的原因是因为
这区的华人很少，你们对这区的认知普遍都很有限，从上面的人的反应和内容就略知一
二了。这区住的主要是白人和黑人，他们的工作地点大部份都在附近地区或downtown，
他们很多都是白领。而division street 是一条很重要的马路贯穿右边的goose island
里的很多大公司，和左边的gold coast甚至michigan ave地段，加上附近有不少学校，
所以这条马路其实每天都很繁忙。上面有人说他们不敢开车经过division street，这
很明显他们对这个地段很不理解，亦未曾开车经过这里。
上面有人说过会远离halsted & division，实际情况是通往南边的路很久之前已经封了
，因为那里有工程，车和人都不准通过，这条马路附近一直都没有商店，没有住宅，又
何来危险?但无论如何，这个单位跟本都不在halsted & division... 阅读全帖 |

BTW, 我以前的公司有10多个GROUP, 每个GROUP有20多个DIVISION, 每个DIVISION有几
个不同地点的OPERATION. DIVSION CONTROLLER 编制在DIVISION, 人可能向GROUP 级的
类CFO的人 DOT LINE REPORT. 毕竟在同一个CORPORATE有上百个DIVISION CONTROLLER
呢. |
