tables.
这些tables是按照star schema的方式设计的，它们分为Dimension tables 和Fact
tables. 举个简单的例子，假设数据仓库记录的是Mutual Funds 销售业绩，那么
每卖出的一份Mutual Fund，都需要记录某推销员，某月某日，卖出了某个Mutual Fund
给某某客户。
这一条条记录就叫 row, record or transaction. 如果你买了三个不同的Mutual Fund
，就有三行记录。这些细节被存放在叫Fact table里。
问：既然一切信息都包括在 Fact table了，那么Dimension tables放什么信息？
答：举个例子
Fact table 每条记录只是这个样子的：
客户 产品 时间 推销员 金额

.
normalize是关系数据库的应用，3rd normal form解决了大部分OLTP的应用，其理念就
是处理insert/update/delete的时候如何尽量减少IO cost.
denormlize解决的是reporting的问题，在关系数据库出现之前，大家把数据做成
spreadsheet, mainframe cobol基本上处理的就是这样的文本文件，一个copybook 定
义每个field是什么，然后读写操作，
从dennormalize到normalize之间使用关系数据库解决report问题就是这个怪胎：
dimension model.
你仔细想想这两个极端，很容易发现dimension model就是一个compromise.
至于FACt-Dimesnsion这样的定义没有必要纠结去严格区分，
简单来说FACT就是dimension key + measurement.
Dimesion就是你要group by的东西，

table,就只有location id,location name,location description.其它就没有了。数
据还是在staging table里，通过join之类的最终导入fact table. |

first/second order testing.
If moderately high, 50~1000, might be able to use LASSO-based methods to
simultaneously reduce dimension and fit the model.
If not really high, ~50, could try SVM/boosting/random forest/......directly
. Look at Hastie/Tibshirani book.

心理准备，这是家跨国皮包公司，老板和下面的人都是东北骗子。
他们在美国新泽西有个公司，说是公司其实就是培训点，专门在西安招会讲英语的人（
职位叫做北美商务外包助理，或者人力资源推广）专门晚上工作。打电话给美国的各个
中国留学生尤其是快毕业需要工作的留学生，打着解决工作、解决合法身份的旗号收取
培训费，引诱留学生在那里的培训点上课，然后很多都在上完课后没有工作，坐着等工
作的消息，有些留学生不得不再另寻出路，所以之前承诺的培训费会在为公司工作后在
返还本人的事情就一了白了了。是以电话营销的方式在国内打电话到美国的，但是对方
的电话上也不会显示是中国的号码，而是美国当地的，欺骗手段较多。尤其是语言上的
套路很能吸引某些抱着急于工作的留学生的心理。
此公司在中国好几个地方都有办事处，为了安全起见用多个名称来注册公司，在北京的
办事处主要招想要去美国工作的人，收取一些费用，等到了美国是什么情形，在下就不
