The problem you raised is different from which I gave. However, it's very
interesting.
I just had a brainstorming, might not be correct.
If the regular gas price was keeping rising, then the X axis can be
substituted by time. This will make things easier.
1). Before the $1.30 time point, the price rising was dominantely driven by
demand side, especially premium gas demand. During this time, the interest
rate is low, new car purchase increases, the price of all gases increases,
lots o |

t*****e 发帖数: 224 | 11 wow, pretty wild, applaud on your imagination!
since our interest is on the putative dependence of price difference on
average price, there is no need to keep track of the time. if one is more

n****e 发帖数: 135 | 12 Would you plot average gas price vs. time (by month) for me? Thanks.
Suppose average gas price is correlated to time, it can be expressed as a
function of time. I need to know if my assumption is correct, please give it a
try or let me know the data source so I can do it by myself.
Yes, we can assume a dependence of price difference on average price.
Unfortunately, time may be a confounding effector of average gas price, only
after we take out this effect, we can make the assumption. So, please |

r****y 发帖数: 1437 | 20 You use matlab?
If so, it's easy.
In matlab, even you draw a 2-D plot, it's actually a 3-D plot.
You played with the handle, set its z=different values. For your case,
set NDVI map with z = -10, and rainfall map with z= 0 will do it. |
|
m*******s 发帖数: 22 | 21 Thank you for your suggestions.
I use matlab. So, I guess your idea actually is to display these two maps
at a different position along the vertical axis of z, just like that
shown in the attached figure(Suppose the top image is the rainfall
map, while the bottom is the NDVI map), right? |

w**d 发帖数: 2334 | 33 It will be very beneficial to read some book.
For time dependent problem, the definition of stability
should be the same for whatever schemes. It basically means
the energy is bounded.
Assume the final time is T, the time step dt = T/N.
Let u_n be numerical solu at t=t_n. For finite difference/element,
u_n is mostly piecewise polynomials, not necessary linear.
For spectral methods, u_n will be a global polynomial.
Just like for u, we can define some norm(energy) for u_n. Then
the stability means |
