K****D 发帖数: 30533 | 1 One thing for DHBH players, I think, is to make up your mind to
hit a slice as early as possible.
The earlier you prepare, the more varieties you can come up with. |
|
t****i 发帖数: 4225 | 2 I do mix my backhand a lot: dhbh, slice with different pace and spin
For slice, I think you have to be ready, not like you slice because you have
to defend or you have no other choice. |

g*****y 发帖数: 7271 | 4 I don't think it is gonna be related. But I play penhold for more than 20
years. Then switched to handshake several years ago (maybe it should not
count because it is almost the same time I started tennis).
Tennis: dhbh. |

K****D 发帖数: 30533 | 5 anybody uses DHBH in pingpong? |
|
g*****y 发帖数: 7271 | 6 me doesn't count? I think it is because of age. It seems I awlays 随大流.
When I started pingpong, penhold seems much much more popular choice. When I
started tennis, dhbh seems to be more popular choice. When I switched to
handshake, it has become the more popular choice. I am too 俗。haha |

K****D 发帖数: 30533 | 7 For DHBH players, don't start before 3.0. |

K****D 发帖数: 30533 | 9 //sigh, really no DHBH in pingpong... |

c******r 发帖数: 422 | 10 LM was very popular and today you can still see a lot newbies and advanced
players using them. LM is more stiff. I would suggest you give MP a shot. I
used to use OS i radical but found FXP MP is much better. I am a DHBH. They
can be found on ebay. |

j**c 发帖数: 234 | 11 I haven't check on my buddy for a while, last time I checked He was 6-1.
He might not playing too hard at the end of season when it became obvious
that his team had no hope for playoff. Or he might want to hold back and
stay in 4.0 for one more year.
You are not too bad yourself with 50% winning record in 4.0 singles
considering that you switched to dhbh for about a year. |

O*****g 发帖数: 1257 | 12 that's very interesting...i was like that when i first started
is it because i used dhbh? |

a*****3 发帖数: 10373 | 15 nah, I think it is because boik's LD intentionally or non-intentionally 打假
球. So all the pressure went to Yoss. I could tell Yoss tried to hit so hard
no matter forehand or backhand. But boik's LD's shots were even much softer
than 2.5! Do you see him playing any dhbh? all I see is soft slice!
So just I feel very deeply 同情 about Yoss~~ |

a*****3 发帖数: 10373 | 16 really? I remember boik's LD is dhbh, right? |

K****D 发帖数: 30533 | 19 No, No.10 is two guys playing, one blue one white. The angle is
right behind the players on 2nd floor. The near court blue guy
is SHBH, and the far court white guy is DHBH.

K****D 发帖数: 30533 | 20 Stamina: perfect.
Backhand: Fast and beautiful. I seldom see open stance DHBH on
this board.
Forehand: Solid open stance. The only problem is racket head speed
doesn't seem fast enough compare to your backhand. Forehands are
supposed to be more powerful. Compared to your old video, it seems
more compact but still kinda slow. I don't really have a problem
with your big stretch back, but I don't particularly like your
follow through. It's slow and takes too much time. I'd prefer you
to swing faste |
|
t****i 发帖数: 4225 | 21 Thanks for the long comments! I will show you some open stance DHBH next
time. Sometimes I can hit cross court winner with this stance, but it is
not easy to do most times with the open stance.
The racquet speed on the forehand side is something I am trying to improve.
I've found that if I don't hold the racquet too tight, I can swing faster.
And this is not something new to the tennis world, hehe. |

K****D 发帖数: 30533 | 22 There was only one lefty with DHBH in the ben, and I assigned him
as Verdasco...
aakk's style is nearer to Nadal than dupont, so...
The other lefty is acc28, who volley, obviously doesn't look like
Nadal.

K****D 发帖数: 30533 | 23 hehe, which specific aspect you don't agree with?
Some of my observations:
1) LZ's friend has awesome forehand and backhand when he is in position.
2) He hits about 50% backhand using single hand blocking or slice, because
he couldn't get in position. That shot is not very solid.
3) Because of 2) I gave a 4.0 on his backhand, although his DHBH in
position could be 4.5 or higher.
4) He dumped about 50% volleys into the net, majorly due to lake of
movement.
5) Because of 4), I gave a weak 3.5 on h |

Just like KPS88, I hang brand new one on the wall of the garage for display

If it is used, I will play with it. Especially for the future when I switch

of ugly, no? |

g*****y 发帖数: 7271 | 33 Searched a little bit on youtube. Seems most 4 & 5 kids use single handed

K****D 发帖数: 30533 | 36 DHBH definitely has higher chance to hit the net than SHNH when
returning low/short slices. |
|
K****D 发帖数: 30533 | 37 It's common among pros. Graf used slices to break down most female
pro's DHBH. |
|
j**c 发帖数: 234 | 38 Are you sure? most ppls think DHBH has better disguise because you can
allow the ball closer to your body, and you can use both hand and wrist to
change directions at the last moment. SHBH must use close stance and hit
to ball well ahead of body, so you need to committee much early. |

G*******l 发帖数: 281 | 39 Yeah, hot to hit high bouncing DHBH.
Hit at the bouncing point, or hit when it drops, thx |
|
t****i 发帖数: 4225 | 40 DHBH does not need to rotate the grip much as compared to SHBH.
You can either use continental (kinda between your forehand and backhand
grips) or always hold the same as your forehand grip |

O*********r 发帖数: 1835 | 43 A point to be proved by Data King:
A = number of ATP players using SHBH;
B = those among A that make to top 30.
A' = number of ATP players using DHBH;
B' = those among A1 that make to top 30.
I suspect: B/A > B'/A'. That is, the percentage of successful SHBH players
is higher. |

189 | 46 When the incoming ball is high at your backhand, slick back to your opponent
's backhand close to the side line, thus your opponent (dhbh) cannot return
easily with full strength, and there is also no room to use forehand to hit
the ball. The only thing he may do, is to return a slow ball to your
backhand again. In another hand, you stayed at left, waiting for the slow
ball and hit a forehand down the line. That moment, your opponent has not
returned to the center position yet (why? think it, sl... 阅读全帖 |

That makes the DHBH player 5.5-6.0. |
