来说都是很头痛的一个问题，我在最初的时候也很烦恼。但是有一点我想先澄清一下，那
就是不要觉得电话面试只有我们外国人才头痛，其实一般的美国人也都为这个困扰着。所
以啊，我们首先要树立信心。
首先我想先说说电话面试的种类。大致来说可以把phone interview根据who conducts分
成2个大类: HR or Hiring manager. 这两类面试的内容侧重不同，我在后面再慢慢分析
。而这两类又可以细分成两类：structured or unstructured. 顾名思义，structured
phone interview 就是HR or Hiring manager 事先准备好了很多的问题， 给你电话面试
的时候就会照着手里纸上的问题一个一个问下来。而unstructured的常常就是想到那里问
那里。这两种类型都有它的难度，每个人的偏好也不一样，我个人比较喜欢unstructured

cover letter就是照着job description写我符合，我牛，我为什么牛，一般强调你最
牛的两三点并出示证据。所以我的cover letter一般四段：
1. 问候，表明兴趣；
2. 我的hands-on经历中与job description重合的亮点与证据；
3. 我的academic/class经历中与job description重合的亮点与证据；
4. 总结并表决心。
就是说，resume是基础（纲要性质，因为很多公司第一步是机器筛选，所以我的resume
里面放了很多流行词汇），cover letter细节上突出你的亮点。
我有时间，所以resume/cover letter/ thank you letter 一般一个都不会少。不时会
搞些follow-up式的废话，虽然有时他们会忽略其中的某些甚至全部。

排A和我在周五5点面试。 结果周五当天3点另外一个人B给先我打电话，当时正开会，
手忙脚乱的， 就往后延到这周一。 我以为公司内部临时把面试官换了。 但是周五5点
A准时给我打了电话， 半个小时电面还算顺利。
和A面试完后， 我意识到可能是两个职位， 不过job description只有一份， HR也从
头到尾没有提到过B。 周一B按时打来电话，面试过程不是那么顺利。然后问了一下，
B和A是两个不同的team， B也不认识A。神奇的是， B才是job description中提到的那
个team 的manager。
A这周一向HR和director推荐了我， HR给我下周的Onsite去见A的team。 然后我发
email问HR关于A和B的情况， HR也没多说， 只是说既然都onsite了， B和他的team 也
准备和我聊一聊。

关于和校友谈什么和在哪谈

好到底打算什么时间毕业，闲散的弄简历，随便在自己知道名字的公司主页晃晃找找，

回答 把description分成每一个word，然后比对 negative words

虽然485上明白写着大于180天可以换工作，用ead卡工作。
并且因为是485 pending的所以可以合法留在美国。
但是，由于h1b 会被原雇主revoke,所以移民局很有可能会发一个rfe evl问当前雇主的
信息，如果拿不出来，485就被拒了。
如果找到了新工作，新工作的job description 必须一致，领域就不用说了，反正码工
，但是比如我是eb2, job description是master或者bachelor+5年。但是，如果新工作
的job description低于这个级别，eb2 485一样被拒，但是因为可以eb3,所以由新公司
从perm开始办。
如果，一切顺利，那么新公司file一个evl给移民局，就继续等绿。
后悔没降级，悔死了。不然我pd这个月就能拿卡了。 |
