终于尘埃落定,今天买到了我们想要的新车。2016 Nissan Altma SV, out of door
price-$20228($17765+TTL). Dealer MSRP price-$27356, 我们是以比dealer MSRP 价
格低$10000拿下的,虽然是2016年产,可也是新车(6个月),只有70 mile.。感觉还

我们是三个星期前决定买新车的。目标基本锁定 Toyota Camry, Honda Accord 和

Dealership其实最不喜欢和一种人做生意,就是那些冲到dealership里,毫无根据和底线乱砍价的buyer。而事实上,dealership是接受一切justified reasons,关键在于你有没有这些justified reasons,而且是不是能够在合适的场合用合适的方式表达出来。
记得我和最后买车那个dealership的sales manager有过一段有趣的对话。我说dealership最喜欢和两种人做生意,一种人是对市场一点都不了解,对价格和想要买什么车没有sense。这种deal,take的时间会长些,但利润很高;一种是对市场有所了解,对价格和喜欢什么车有点感觉,但对hassle没有兴趣。这种deal利润的变数其实很大,但时间会很短,尤其是当有些时候cases很多的时候,sales manager会比较喜欢这样的buyer。但dealership应该不喜欢和我这样的人做买卖。他笑笑说,其实dealership还愿意和一种是对游戏规则很了解,而且擅长negotiating的人做生意。这种deal利润相对比较低,而且没准花的时间也不

看了之前有同胞在黑心dealer处身心俱疲的经历。
也想总结一下这么多年自己和dealer打交到的一些想法和总结。
有些肯定以前已经有人总结过,如有雷同,请大家包涵,只能说君子所见略同了:)
自己在美国生活的时间不短了,自己家买过三辆新车,帮朋友前前后后买过5,6辆新车
。和dealer打交道也算是见的比较多了。
这里我就不诉苦自己的苦了,各种被骗白跑,白眼,冷遇,恐吓,翻脸不认人,基本是
经历遍了。
这里主要想总结一下三个方面
1:为什么大家买车的经历会如此痛苦。
2:在买车过程中 dealer 和买家各自的资本是什么
3:如何才能使买车的经历不那么痛苦。

一句话总结买车之所以痛苦,是因为我们和dealer想要的生意方式不一致的。
在商品价格透明的今天,汽车销售因为总总原因任然停留在几十年以前。已经是美国几
乎是最后一个价格不完全透明的大众消费品行业。传统的dealership 仍然把持绝大多
数的汽车销售。(tesla想要开自己的直销部,绕开dealer,就被dealer协会围攻,好像
至今在很多州都不能直接卖。)

我们住在Pennsylvania,离Delaware 就几里路。
去年十一月份断断续续的看了看Toyota的Sienna CE(V6, 7 pass),在PA能拿到的最好
价是23600+TTL。后来由于小孩推迟了上daycare的时间,也就相应地把买车这事放了一
阵。现在小孩马上就要上daycare,于是花了两周的时间把车给买了。
过了半年时间,Sienna 的CE价格大概涨了$1000 (可以参考Truecar的价格走势),去
年的这家dealership已经不给match去年十一月的价格。由于Sienna的two star rating
for front female passenger,我们决定放弃Sienna,转战Honda Odyssey LX.
参照Truecar的价格,我们把目标价定在$26000+TTL. 网上能拿到的最好的quote是$
26726 (OTD: $28501)(Truecar best local price:$26754),然后我们就从这家
dealership开始逐个看车谈价。

为不工作也没车开无法出去兼生了一个娃太忙,所以对美国的车市场也不知道。一抹黑
。因为老公上班比较忙,之前他也调研了一些,但是后来发现还是我自己调研专注一些
。所以除了去dealershio看车(共两次)和买车签合同,基本都自己完成。
第一步:需求调研,其实真的不知道该从哪里开始,这点是最困难的。我们的开始就是
在车版问问题。最初想买SUV,但是从预算2万刀来看,只能买5座的SUV,但是得到评论
说5座SUV安全性不高,然后开门不方便,所以基本上确定了买Minivan,然后很多人推
荐dodge caravan,这也是基本符合我的预算的minivan。尤其是看到了一个帖子说希望
买一个能平躺的车,3分钟内放平,在里面可以平躺伸直腿。很多年以前,就想要一个
能开出去

你这个就等价于车厂直接own所有的dealership一样,其实还是dealership制度。
凡是让成交价跟销量、产品质量、客户反应挂钩的销售系统,其实都是属于dealership
模式。
并且车厂直销还有一个致命地方:因为销量不好,车厂必定要调整售价。这样就很危险
,因为一旦某个月开始销量不好,大家都知道车厂接下来必定会调售价,价格肯定会更
便宜,所以多数人必定会暂时按兵不动;这样就导致接下来销量更少;更少的销量又会
导致下一波价格下调。所以这是一个恶性循环,没有车厂愿意陷进这里面去。所以你看
就算是采取直销制度的Tesla,还有其它一些固定售价不讲价的品牌(比如说Scion),
不管销量是好是坏,每一个model year都紧紧固定死售价不变,就是这个道理。
而当前dealership模式就很好地避免了这个问题。因为尽管消费者可以知道整个车厂的
每个月销售总量,但他们不可能知道具体到每一个dealership的销售数量;总会有的
dealer卖得好,有的卖得不好。所以这个variation就会提供一个价格的支撑点。

有你的这种情况,也有你楼上回的IN-IL跨州的情况,具体看跨的州和dealership的情况
比如我的是PA-NJ,
case 1:dealership有subscribe跨州registration服务,一条龙服务,做到真的OTD (
selling price + doc fee+ TTL);
case 2: PA小dealership不想多花费办跨州牌照,只给30天临时tag(牌照),但要
collect NJ tax,剩下的会开一张支票给NJ MVC,连同其他材料寄到你家,然互你自己
去mvc注册交4年registration fee;
case 3: PA小dealership遵守先签谈好的OTD,算好NJ state tax+ estimate 4yr
registration fee+title fee,写到一个给mvc的check上,还让你自己办理,如果差几
块钱自己补。
case 4: PA小dealership遵守先签谈好的OTD,只寄给你check cover nj tax,剩下的
几百块钱用gift card或者配件形式给你

dealership这个话题,说到底只是一个形式问题。
不管是所谓“dealership”还是“直销”,买车卖车总得有一个销售部门(就算是全自
动的网上销售,也总得由人来负责maintain、监控、控制这套软件系统,总之就是怎么
也得有这一步)。
dealership就相当于车厂把销售部门的这个职能按地域承包给私人;而直销就相当于车
厂的员工来负责这个职能。其实都是人来干这事情,区别只是这些人的老板是一个不直
接隶属于车厂CEO管的人,还是说是一个听CEO指挥的employee而已。
现在dealership所有的毛病对于让车厂来直接运营的“直销”来讲,发展下去也会逐渐
收敛到同样的情况。因为除非全世界最后只剩下唯一的一个汽车品牌(你没有别的选择
);不同品牌之间的竞争,必然会牵涉到价格的竞争。一旦价格随市场存在任何程度的
free float,你现在看到dealership的所有毛病,也会随之而来。
肯定有人会举Tesla作为例子。Tesla之所以可以用MSRP卖,那是因为它的产品目前在市
场上还没有严格对号的竞争者(定位豪华车、后驱布局、突出加速性能的纯电动车)。

朋友要卖一个二手车,2002年的车,2005年从DEALERSHIP手里买来,之前有一个OWNER。当时查了CARFAX没有车祸史,DEALERSHIP也没有说过有车祸。现在再查CARFAX,发现2003年有过车祸 "front impact with another vehicle",但是05年买车的时候没有记录,当时应该是DEALERSHIP隐瞒了吧。但是现在要卖车的时候这个记录出现了,对卖车不利。而且当初如果05年有这个记录,就不会买了。请问这种情况能找原来的DEALERSHIP索赔吗?据说这几年来修车也花了一些钱,但是好像没有什么结构上的大问题那样。

正在关于一款二手车砍价。这个车condition很好,feature exactly满足我们要求,10
款,mile也很低。seller自称是一个
dealership的owner,auction了这个车,现在按照private party来当私人车卖,说他
常常在main job(走正规
dealership路线)额外,自己干些私活,以个人身份转卖。这个是不是并不奇怪?
现在dealer到了一个价X,就死活不肯降了,说这个价钱他只赚450刀。这个价本来我们
觉得也还可以了,就要求再降几
百。这时候,seller offer说,可以通过dealership做账,写好X-4000成交价,然后
按照X-4000来报税,这样我们把
tax跟licensing fee给他,他来通过dealership办手续,能够帮我们剩那几百刀。
听到这个提议后,我们比较confuse。想问大家几个问题:
1)这样理论上可行吗?对我们是不是比较有风险。whatever,我们倾向于没必要这样
搞,但是想探讨一下,这样到底风险
多大,有没有漏洞?讨论清楚了,对于后来人也有好处。假定我们从了dealer这个提议

一个车祸,对方全责。
拖到dealership (以下用A dealership)之后,等了1个多月。
对方保险公司说,dealership报出的部件费及人工费,将近7000;
他们找到另外一个地方(以下代称B修车店),5000。
于是对方保险公司说能否只给5000。
我要求对方保险公司报出B修车店的联系方法以及部件的品质,并且
说如果品质无法保证,那么我要求在A dealership做正规维护,按照7000
来计费。
对方保险公司于是一直躲避不表态。已经又过了1个星期。
对方保险公司当初写信承诺承担所有租车费用直到解决为止,现在只解决了最初30天的租车费,之后又有15天的租车费还一直没表态。
对方会不会一直拖着不理?或者对以后的租车费抵赖?
我该怎么办?

今天早上去dealership又查了,确实是他们的问题,半个小时不到修好了。给的解释是
,换thermostat的时候(那天charge了我们四个小时的labor),拔了空调的一个插头
,后来插回去了,但是没插紧。Dealership态度还不错,没有直接表无辜。
顺便说一下,今天去dealership之前,还去local的一个autoshop问了一下。Autoshop
前台的第一反应是,遇到这种情况,当然应该回dealership让他们复查,很有可能就是
什么地方线被弄松了。事实证明也的确是这样的。
还不错,总算没有又花个几百刀。

对了 我打电话toyota customer service说dealership 的人很rude,不讲理,他们要我
找customer relationship manager在dealership那里的,这个是与狼谋皮吧?人
dealership那里的customer relationship manager还不是护着dealer啊!
或者打电话直接告诉toyota customer service,report这个dealership有用么?我还没
有告诉customer service具体哪家签字没有disclose清楚 忽悠我了。。。

service会不会能对dealership施压?

manager, 但是不知道这个customer relationship manager是不是就是toyota的自己人?

“customer satisfaction survey (CSS)。这是manufacturer衡量dealership service
quality的标准之一,而且就目前所能得到的信息来看,即便dealership能达到sales
target,如果他们的CSS rate 很低,他们也会有麻烦。一来,他们可能无法拿到他们
幸苦卖车得来的bonus,另一方面,他们有可能无法从manufacturer那里及时得到那些
很hot vehicle。不过,我诚恳地建议你,CSS是个核武器,吓人滴可以,使用滴不行。
如果你在一家dealership make deal了,就给他们最高的rating,否则,你就别在那里
买。不要在make deal后用这个去整dealership,除非你觉得他们做得很过分,否则,
最多敲打一下就行了,没必要把对方往死里推。而且,如果在前面negotiate的时候暗
示他们你知道CSS,而且会给他们最高的rating,你应该可以获得更好的leverage。(最

你这个说的有一定启发性。
TESLA  颠覆的不仅仅是经销商制度,实际上以后条件合适,TESLA的
dealership不是啥大问题。TESLA颠覆的实际上是落后的汽车工业生产方式。
当前的生产商-dealership经常导致了所谓的“以产定销”,明明这车有N个问题,市
场上竞争力很差,但是汽车生产商只是强行把车塞给dealer就完事了,再逼着dealer用
各种流氓方法给卖出去。实际上dealer在帮忙背黑锅。这个问题在美国车厂特别明显。
而直销让厂商直接面对群众,他们卖不出去车厂商当月的数据就不好看,产品问题能够
快速直接反馈到厂商,然后厂商可以在下一个批次直接修正这个BUG。TESLA已经取消什
么批次的概念,不停在升级。如果有dealership,这个很难做。

My wife's brand new 2013 Honda CRV with just over 2000 miles had its power
assist steering fail yesterday, The steering was stiff and impossible to
steer and the yellow steering light on the dash came on. Luckily it happened
in a parking lot where she was driving below 5mph, We had the car towed to
the dealership right away, we think its a serious safety issue any one here

们就要找deal, 花最少的钱做最多的事情, dealership, shop挣不挣钱跟consumers有
鸟关系. 现在有internet, youtube, dealership给的价格让我觉得贵,那就要曝光!
list上面总有一些没有鸟用的service就要给指出来! 这样才能让更少的consumers被忽
悠, 这样争取大家慢慢的都不去dealership那里维护车,让dealership去喝西北风去吧
