Taylor Woolrich asked the school if she could carry a gun to fend off a man
she claims has been stalking her since she was 16.

faculty基本都在Sharon买房，开车单程1个小时。
umass dartmouth在north dartmouth这个town. 周围最好的学区就是north dartmouth
了，当然相对去sharon那差别大去了。地税也便宜，商店巨多。不过人看起来杂一些，
葡萄牙人多。
缺点是，麻省最南部，如果换工作的话，房子估计要卖了，否则开车上班太累。学区一
般般。
sharon的优点是学区在麻省top5，位于麻省中间，有火车站，上北下南的很方便。缺点
是太贵，看得上眼的，就50万左右，而且几乎都是1个星期内被人买走。。Open house
的时候，中国人巨多，都是扶老携幼的来看。快赶上china town了。 |

里面有没有抽血，如果有的话有没有查是否丙肝和乙肝患者／携带者？
因为要接待国内来的亲戚，去往 Dartmouth 上学，他家里直系亲属里面有患肝炎。我
现在孕期，希望extra careful. 我知道出国留学是要体检，打疫苗啊什么的，不知道
会不会查乙肝，丙肝。如果查出来的话，至少会通知本人吧？（我知道即使查出来也不
能因此学校拒绝录取或收回offer, 就是想知道至少本人心里有数吧。）
还有各个学校的入学体检要求应该差不多吧。不是dartmouth 的近两年出国留学的同学
们也请share 一下information. 出国体检查不查乙肝，丙肝？谢谢！ |

发帖数: 918 | 18 我表妹去年拿了dartmouth的拒了，最后没有去ivy school，她去参观以后觉得学校很
偏，旧旧的，但是小孩的话不作数，她没申mit也是不喜欢那里，结果现在读了一个学
期想transfer去mit了。我婶婶给了我一个她不想让孩子去的理由倒是我们该重视的。
她说她同时的孩子去了Dartmouth的，不好好读书，成天喝酒嗑药，周围有钱孩子又多
，风气非常不好，不是一个读书的地方。但是翻过来说，有名的本科，喝酒嗑药的多了
去了，看你混那个圈子。就是dartmouth可能地接比较偏，孩子容易扎堆干这个吧，我
听说的RPI，Williams这种学校都有类似的问题。 |

多，都是大学城。专业排名PSU是第八，Dartmouth是五十左右，但Dartmouth是常春藤

to be a faculty somewhere, and do first-class research.
You have mentioned that in Dartmouth you are in a department of a dozen
faculty. Remember Dartmouth is in New Hampshire, i.e., in the middle of

。 面试时间 8.10am， 能持续20-30 分钟吧。 然后再赶回学校。我在Google上查到的 单程76 Miles 往返车程不超过3个小时。

死难者的哀思，募集捐款，同时为受困的受灾人民祈福，扩大地震在这个东北小镇中的
影响，CSSA决定进行一系列的募捐和烛光祈福活动。
虽然筹备的时间很短，但是同学们纷纷加班加点，出谋划策，联系场地、设计和制作宣
传海报、落实捐款事宜、并在学校内进行了宣传，活动在5月15日举行。
当天清晨下起了绵绵细雨，但是天公作美，上午时分就转而放晴。同学们顾不上吃饭，
在Dartmouth著名的Big Green草坪边搭起了展台。来来往往的中国学生和美国学生、教
授以及普通市民都对我们的活动表达了关注，也对中国人民的遭遇深表同情。他们有的
现场慷慨解囊，有的欣然在海报上签名表示对赈灾的支持。
看到这一切，同学们都十分感动，虽然远隔重洋，我们仍能够为祖国做出自己的贡献，
向美国人民展示我们中华儿女的爱国热情。
短短的一个下午，我们就收到了不少捐款。傍晚时分，我们再一次聚集在Big Green大
草坪上，用烛火写下了512这几个字，闻讯而来的中国学生、教授以及美国同学和教授
们也纷至沓来，用燃烧着的烛火围成了一个心 |

dartmouth cs 5年的全奖，phd
具体方向一年后定，整个系的规模不大，10多个faculty的样子，做cs的不同方向
地点在美国东北部，比较偏北。
oxford cs 自然语言处理 3年的全奖 phd
导师比较年轻，现在处于发展期吧。oxford名声好
有些同学帮助提出的疑问：英国的学位的认同度是不是不高？并且要留英国或者以后到
美国发展有些困难？。。。
还有就是学术圈子是不是不广，美国的机会更多些？
再就是方向问题 dartmouth可能是计算机视觉，还没定，和自然语言处理的比较
大家帮忙看看选哪个好些，哪个对以后的发展比较有利，希望能够有些中肯的建议

不如直接读UMN/URochester的civil?UMN和这个dual degree花的钱是一样的...
P.S. 不准备本科毕业立刻就业...至少再读master吧。
P.S.2:Dartmouth的薪水分部...PHD这么烂?

说实话，真没觉得有什么值得BSO的，无非是个学校，在我眼里只是个地名，很多人在
这里生活学习，仅此而已。
何况，仅在未名，名副其实的牛人已然很多，在所谓名校呆了两天半就出来BSO，实在
